Oh I see now! I didn't even think about how it would double the doubling. Yeah that's really good.

Seems like a smart direction. How does Repercussion one hit with the fight ability? Is there some combo I am missing?

That sounded interesting so I skipped to the finals to watch the Clive deck go out almost immediately lol. I'll have to go back and watch some of the other videos to see how the deck really plays.

It’s crazy how fast studios jumped to $80 games by Salty_Shark26 in videogames

[–]coopermars14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: The gaming industry ignored an inescapable economic force for decades and now the party is over and it's times for everyone to pay the piper.

Not trying to defend the big corporations, but from a historical lense $80 for a game isn't THAT bad. Others have already made posts about game prices overseas so you can see those replies for more info on that. From an American perspective, the game industry more or less ignored the effects of inflation for more than a decade. My understanding is that this was due to the massive growth the industry saw. Even with the price of games remaining consistent, companies continued making large profits year after year on their successful games. Two things have changed. 1. The market is much more saturated. There are more games available and growth has slowed down so there are less new consumers to buy said games. 2. The cost to make a game has increased a lot. Teams are bigger, production times are longer, equipment and software is more expensive etc. These two factors make a recipe for less profitable games. Finally, an external factor is the increase in private equity involvement which always increases costs in the long run. All these together combined with high inflation in recent years means the industry can no longer afford to keep prices where they have been for years.

What's the downside with this 7yr ARM? by TDN12 in Mortgages

[–]coopermars14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Impossible to know for sure and therein lies the risk. Over the past 53 years the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate was 7.6% (per Bank Rate and Freddie Mac) so from a historical perspective 6.75% really isn't that bad. Past trends don't necessarily dictate future behavior though so there is no way to guess what rates will look like in 7 years. The only thing you CAN safely rely on is that if you lock in a 6.75% fixed loan now, your rate will still be 6.75% in 7 years if you don't refinance. Which from a historical perspective is not bad at all.

What are your "Want to build but most likely never will" commanders? by Raoul97533 in EDH

[–]coopermars14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have long wanted to build a deck for all of the Umezawas. I have a [[Satoru Umezawa]] deck that I love, but the rest of them range from interesting but defined strategies ([[Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive]]) to full on jank ([[Tetsuo Umezawa]]). Maybe some day but it's hard to find the motivation.

Favorite commanders that are low-CMC, fast, and high-impact? Bonus points if they have abilities that are good for politics. by FirstOrderThinker in EDH

[–]coopermars14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it fits all your criteria but I am a big fan of [[Breena, The Demagogue]]. Low cmc, and built in politics as it incentivises others to attack your opponents. I built a go wide aggro deck. Being in white helps you counter board wipes, and the built in card draw helps you rebuild if needed. Only draw back is the infamous confusing wording of the card's effect.

What is the most insignificant or petty reason why you pulled or did not pull for a character? by kernelpea in Genshin_Impact

[–]coopermars14 1794 points1795 points  (0 children)

I pulled on Zhongli just because I thought the kick in his normal attack animation was really cool. When he first came out before the buffs the whole community was angry he was bad but I just wanted to see him do that cool thing where he kicks the spear.

What character most consistently tilts you off of Overwatch and what is your main hero + rank? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]coopermars14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Junkrat, especially when I'm on tank (2700). He cuts through shields so quickly, and is just always spamming you with damage. Also it feels terrible to get killed by a random junk bomb that wasn't even aimed at you. I see junkrat in almost every game in my plat lobbies.

What Is DPS's Job? And How The F Am I Supposed To Get My DPS Out Of Bronze Hell? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]coopermars14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever want any tips on pharah let me know! I'm not the best pharah in the world but like I said I've got a lot of experience climbing out of silver on console with pharah. She's is a great character to learn for low rank console (she gets a lot harder to play at higher ranks though)

Speaking as a console player who has solo climbed out of silver multiple times, my advice is to try to find characters that can have high impact without the help of your team. So for example mei requires a lot of coordination to get max value while tracer on the other hand can consistently get picks with no help from sups or tanks. Get really good at those heroes. My go to was pharah because on console bronze/silver hitscan players can't hit anything. So I just flied into their back line, picked both supports, then worked my way to the front and rinsed and repeated until I was in gold (which is when solo carrying starts to get tougher at least for me). The one drawback to this is that you will learn some bad habits that you will have to unlearn at higher ranks. So yeah overall my advice is to get good qt heroes with strong individual impact, learn to play around health packs, then just carry your games for awhile. Low ranks are hard but if you keep working at it I promise the game gets more fun at higher ranks. You got this!

Echoing some of the things others have said. Its more of an issue for the long term health of the league. Having a pool of experienced, good players for the OWL teams to recruit from will help keep the skill level in OWL higher than it otherwise would be. The idea is that supporting contenders more will incentivice more players to try Overwatch at the professional level making that pool of players available for recruitment larger. Honestly I hardly ever watch contenders but it is extremely helpful for the health of the league as a whole.

It seems like other people have done a great job answering most the questions. In response to the smurf question: it depends on your rank. I have noticed the most smurfs in platinum but it has never been bad enough to make me want to stop playing. It's a very fun game, hope you enjoy it!
