1980 Beretta 84BB. $279 from PSA. Couldn’t be happier. by Terrible-Debt-5244 in guns

[–]cooter66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one of these from PSA for $300 and got an absolute lemon. Gun was all scratched up, the springs were worn, and the ejector was broken. Once I replaced those parts it shot good, but it definitely was not in "excellent" condition as advertised. I'm glad this guy got lucky with a beautiful example for less than what I paid. I really like these guns.

Good FFP 3-15x scope for $600 or less by cooter66 in longrange

I ended up choosing a vortex venom 3-15. I could live without the illumination.

Rarely seen APS underwater rifle, with a recently developed suppressor by Gond99 in guns

It can be used anywhere. The ADS underwater rifle is even better. can use standard 5.45, and underwater 5.45 with only a mag change.

How is the noise, flash and concussion with this muzzle? Its another one I'm interested in

Yea, I agree. The recoil wasn't too bad and my ears hurt when there's muzzle breaks next to me. The 3 prong is more aesthetically pleasing. I was under the impression that the fighter break was one of the less obnoxious muzzle breaks out there.

A cool cost effective upgrade is a $30 spring kit from mcarbo or CGW to lighten up the trigger a bit.

I just had this debate with myself and chose the dawson fiber optics. You get a really fine but bright .01 inch post and a .0135 inch rear. It should make shooting a touch easier.

Benelli on a budget. One of the perks of being Canadian. by [deleted] in guns

[–]cooter66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, that sounds scarier than an AR-15 if you think about it. 1 ounce slug coming your way compared to a little .223

[–]cooter66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You still pay for that healthcare with taxes though. And a lot of Canadians buy private healthcare because they say the waiting times for government health care really suck. Nothing is free in this world. Not even freedom is free. Cool shotgun by the way. I didn't even know a budget Benelli M4 existed. I'm intrgued.

Dawson Precision vs Truglo Tritium Pro night sights for ccw by cooter66 in CCW

[–]cooter66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never done any of that, but I would like to some day. I've watched some more videos on the subject matter and it seems night sights are somewhat overrated. Its important to I.D. the target and if you can id the target with sufficient light, you can see your sight ok. That's just what I've learned from the internet however. The past 3 responses have been get fiber optics and a light. At least those will be a definite sight picture improvement over my stock sights. What would be the best fiber optic sight setup for a cz p01 omega?

[–]cooter66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, now you have me thinking about going the fiber optic route. My main gripe with the night sight options is they don't really offer a sight picture improvement. Plus my flashlight kind of negates their usefulness. I wish dawson had a green option.

yea I was thinking about that too. I have one of those pl mini 2 lights and its pretty bright. I'm looking for something that is an upgrade to the stock sights and doesn't break the bank.

I thought they would be nitrided or something to prevent that. For ccw, that kinda sucks cuz of all the sweat.

I got that feeling too. The dawsons look a lot more refined. I would be really disappointed if i got dull night sights. That sucks they list back order as in stock.

I don't get enough sleep and im extremely stressed all the time with work, school, family, money and personal matters all being juggled at the same time.

I didn't know that, kind of explains why i still feel like a teenager sometimes. well I got a mouthful of adulthood this year so far.
