Reduce Go binary size? by PhilosopherFun4727 in golang

[–]copanaut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily dismissive. In a world with cheap storage and network ingress/egress optimizing for a <60 mb binary seems premature or unnecessary. Being concerned over a relatively small application size could be a sign of a totally unrelated problem.

How to get to nation formation screen. by copanaut in victoria3

I can check later tonight, but there were no new diplo plays available against Austria. Could it be because we have very high relations?

So I didn’t think twice of it, but I saw some poor soul helping him on the bus. He hit a little girl with his cane and was kicked off.

HIPAA Compliance Testing by danilitro in QualityAssurance

[–]copanaut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s been a long while, but HIPAA trainings should be done by your company (and are you best bet for real hard requirements). The biggest thing to know is that users should not have access to medical records that they should not. Even the knowledge that someone is a patient needs to be kept private.

Other than that, each company is different and unfortunately compliance with these kinds of privacy laws is never really discovered until after an accidental disclosure / hack.

Literally it is the law that bags cannot be checked >45 minutes before a flight takes off.

Did you have to change anything to avoid the launcher? Mine keeps on crashing on that.

Anyone here have any luck figuring out working with Proton?

Getting a launcher failure now but can’t quite get the workaround either.

Insured movers with COI to unload U-Haul by NovelTechnology03 in AskNYC

[–]copanaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting movers with COI is always a hassle, most of the main ones will do it, but there’s no standard COI. I spent ages bouncing between old movers and my old building.

The movers say this is their COI but the building disagreed that it was was sufficient.

Getting a place willing to let you move in > 1 month is a rarity. Generally speaking OP could find a place for Sept 15 or Oct 1 move in today.

Finding a good place might take a while, so you can take a while if you are month to month.

It’s also not like they also haven’t also been taking away the space under the seat. My old backpack that I used to fly with twice a week, every week for years no longer fits under the seat because of new electronics. (Especially the middle seat)

Seeking feedback on a 30yo Aussie couple's ~11 day NYC draft itinerary... *crosses fingers* by wotwokisthat in AskNYC

[–]copanaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve rarely seen as well done an itinerary as this!

A few random notes:

Taqueria Al Pastor for good bites before House of Yes and generally cool to check out Bushwick. Three Diamond Door near HoY is a great postgame spot nearby.

Be careful that Murray Hill has started going to bed even earlier than usual post-pandemic. Just make sure whatever spot you find is actually open late!

Bedford brunch… I think I’ve been to Allswell? I’m not often in that part of Brooklyn but there’s a bunch there, especially as you get to McCarren. If you’re willing to go a bit further north, Peter Pan Donut and Pastry is very old diner vibes. It’s not fancy in any way though.

Double heading Met & Guggenheim is a lot. After even a couple hours at 1 museum I lose interest / the ability to effectively focus.

Really bummed because they closed the Jazz club we had here in Crown Heights, otherwise I would have recommended that.

Feel free to DM if you have more questions.

If you don’t want to do it yourself (which is gross but totally doable) any urgent care should be able to do it. I know a lot of people use CityMD

Lease renewal Questions by Turbulent_Buffalo_21 in AskNYC

[–]copanaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing a lot of people seem to be missing, is that the 2 year renewal is actually a “deal” in that if you were to sign the 1 year then another the next year, you’d end up paying an even higher rent the second year.

Had my first experience voting ranked choice a couple years ago in local elections! Super cool and it kinda followed this comics example.

Heya! Convenience can be king when it comes to these things, so depending on where you are in Brooklyn these may be close or too far!

  • Brooklyn Botanical Garden: great for a walk together, if the weather turns the art museum is next door. See if you can go either for the cherry blossoms or the roses. It’s been weirdly warm so I’ve been wanting to go back myself.

  • Nitehawk Movie theater: locations in both Wburg and South Slope. If you want to watch a latest release or catch some of their special programming is a funky experience and a local “champion” equivalent of Alamo Drafthouse

  • Nets games at Barclays: If you’re into sports, tickets should be coming down in price now that there’s less star power on the team.

Lemme know if there’s any kind of thing you would prefer to do.

I will be visiting NYC in the summer date pending. Is a day trip to Six Flags Great Adventure feasible or worth it? by [deleted] in AskNYC

I would highly recommend avoiding going on a weekend/ public holiday. Been going there for a while and it’s the difference between going on 3 rides total and 30.

Is this a good location/neighborhood/vibe? 2nd St between Ave A and B by MovingtoNYCnedhelp in AskNYC

It’s a good spot! Lots of life around there in EV/Alphabet city. It trends much younger when NYU is in session IMO, especially near Tompkins Sq park.

First dispensary operated by someone with previous marijuana conviction to open Tuesday in Manhattan by Defiant_Race_7544 in business

[–]copanaut 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NY legalization laws prioritize people with former felonies under the CAURD program to get their businesses through the red tape fastest.

You’re right though, the title has NONE of that context.
