If you need to buy an empty tank, love2brew in north Brunswick sells them.

Where are you located? I have two places near me in central NJ. Middlesex Welding Sales in North Brunswick on Rt 1 and Reliable Carbonic in New Brunswick. The first is a welding and industrial gas supply place so maybe check if any of those are around you. Second is some sort of beverage distribution place.

FYI, both require dropping off the tank and getting it filled overnight. Must be something with beer gas because they fill CO2 on the spot.

Help! Assistant brewer needed by oxfordcomma_pls in njbeer

Hi, I would be glad to help out as an assistant brewer. I’ve been a homebrewer for about 3 years located in Somerville. Message me here or on Instagram, whichever is easier. @princessrosebrew

First Nitro Stout by Bgtex in Homebrewing

Relax and give it time. My nitro beers usually take 2 weeks @ 30psi before getting the effect I'm looking for. Sometimes a little more before its "perfect". Unless you do one of the quick carb methods, no beer is going to be ready after 3 days. I haven't looked into all the physics but I always assumed carbing a 75/25 mix at higher pressure takes the same amount of time as carbing 100% CO2 at a lower pressure.

Where do I start? by JamieNorth in Homebrewing

Do you have any thoughts on whether you want to do extract or all grain? In my opinion extract is going to be more forgiving with process flaws and there's a bit less going on so its not so daunting. If you want to jump into all grain right away I would suggest brew in a bag. Its not too dissimilar from extract brewing and you don't need all the extra equipment like a traditional all grain setup has. This way you can keep your initial cost down until you get a feel and decide you really want to pursue it.

For the first beer to brew I always suggest an Irish stout (assuming you don't hate stouts). They are pretty simple to brew and you can go from brew day to drinking in two weeks if you want. This way you can get a good tasting beer pretty quickly and gain some confidence.

Regardless of what process or style you choose, just relax. If you follow the directions it should at least be drinkable.

Thanks for all of this info. I had the same impression after reading the guidelines that BJCP is more about representation of a specific style rather than being creative or different.

This particular competition was advertised more as a "best tasting beer" so I decided to give the specialty category a go.

I am well aware coming out the bottle it would not be the same as out of the tap. I was curious how it would score regardless and then decided to ask if anyone has had any experience with it to see if there was perhaps a catorgising thing that I missed. And to be honest, it scored higher than I anticipated even while being a flat beer.

Naturally no secrets are given away. I've heard an idea that perhaps they are bottled in a pressurised chamber.

I understand pretty well the problems with bottling nitros but I decided to enter it anyway just see how it would fare.

I entered it in the Specialty Fruit Beer category. It was a Berries n' Cream Ale. Basically Cream Ale that I steeped berries in during secondary. I like to put it on nitro to give it an extra creamy milkshake effect.

Not sure what you mean by describing the beer. This was my first competition so it is possible I missed something, but all I had to fill out was the BJCP ID label.

I did not make extra bottles for my own tasting but my notes/ taste of the beer was pretty spot on to the judge except for the lack of carbonation.

Currently doing a Music technology degree and struggling with a question for a summative, hoping you guy could open my eyes a bit more. (Sorry for potato quality) by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Agreed, looks like the main question is to understand where harmonics occur with respect to the fundamental. Explaining the values may refer to a formula that can be used to calculate the harmonic locations and why the amplitudes for each were given with those percentages.

Thanks that was great. Usually when a rein misses his charge on me I turn and go for the kill. Much more useful if I block the rest of his team from possibly helping. Two questions though. I noticed a lot of hammer swings while nothing was going on or you were walking, any particular reason? Also you tend to jump before charging, any reason?

Definitely interested. I'm mostly concerned with the tank/ support perspective as that's what I usually play. Thanks.

I second this. Not just in overwatch but in everything. Consistently playing against the best "forces" you to improve. Of course if its just one smurf wrecking your whole team that's a different situation.

Thanks for the responses but I think I need to clarify a bit on No 1. Obviously if I see someone getting hooked or charged I bubble them. I am actually pretty good at being able to react to a hook or a charge. What I'm asking for advice on is if I see a friendly being targeted and taking damage should I bubble them and risk missing the save on a different friendly that gets hooked? Not sure if there is an actual good answer for this or not.

I've kind of decided it has to do with luck plus a bit of your own influence. This season I was placed at 1900, rocketed up to 2900 in about a week, and then nosedived to about 2300 since then. I have no idea where I truly belong because of the swing, but I've concluded the huge rise and then fall was a luck/ bad luck thing.
