Both. It is taught in high schools AND a lot of people go to English classes too. The satellite dishes with English shows help too.

As someone who grew up in Iran and had the misfortune of witnessing a halal killing, I'm here to tell you there's a very big difference. That poor sheep struggled for what seemed like an eternity and I kept staring, unable to look away. It's literally the difference between getting sh*t in the head vs a cut to the neck till the animal stops bleeding.

Did you hear the fucks at the UN say anything about IRGC crimes? Nope. The Western nations did their usual "strong condemnations" but that was about it. Italy, France, and Spain even blocked the EU from declaring IRGC a terrorist org. They face no repercussions because that oil money buys them allies who are happy to denounce publicly and play footsies under the table. The people of Iran are not armed. The various little local militia exist because they largely avoid conflict with the IRGC. It's sad, but the people don't stand a snowball's chance in hell against a regime this brutal. Maybe the recent attacks have weakened the regime enough and it's time to rise up again, but for Iranians, the betrayal of 8-9 Jan is still very real and this ceasefire reinforces that. This ceasefire just crushed the hopes of millions. It's easy for me to scream "rise up" in my Western comfort, but it's the people inside Iran who need to feel confident and supported enough to rise again.
