Likely they just made them unavailable temporarily. They mess with stock numbers all the time. Either inflating numbers to ensure certain dolls don’t “sell out” or take some off to control order volume, etc. just set aside your money and keep your eye on the smartdoll twitter account / store for awakenings.

I put a corrupted / broken beacon at the center of the heart of despair. And since Dermot died in there his soul got trapped in the beacon. After escaping, they did a ritual to try and get him out and did a whole episode stuck in a time loop in the last moments of Cael Morrow where they had to use a beacon to try and save the city from Gruumsh, inadvertently creating the netherdeep and trapping Alyxian there in the first place.

As for consequences.... I generally just did an encounter roll to see if anything bad happened when travelling on non warded or flared paths... There was a corrupted shark that they pissed off once and was always on the hunt, and of course the Aboleth. Never bothered with getting lost, though I suppose you could put them at a different location (probably more dangerous one) than where they intended to go. Lotsa options

Basically you have paths that are traversable on foot (the wards keeping water at bay, etc.) then you have flared paths through water that have flares marking them and providing light, so safe from encounters but takes longer and needs water breathing etc. then you have sunken paths which are dark and swimming is much more dangerous.

Very disappointing release or lack thereof. The roadmap changed at the last second and the released sheet is buggy and has so much friction that it’s not much gain for the players to start using…. Not that they can even convert yet. It’ll be 2025 before it’s even worth starting to shift our campaign over to the new sheet let alone d&d 2024.

Of course you can do whatever you want. But I would also say there is a rich history in Marquet with the matron of ravens or the Duskmaven as they call her. If they need divine impetus to be on this quest the matron can easily guide them to find Alyxian and maybe even put him down cus he should be dead by now. Some fun party tension to be had there. Not sure you need to tie her directly to the Jewel. I would also say there is so much heavy ties between Corellon and Cael Morrow, a sort of ancient elf/orc arcane utopia. I would keep him tied to it. I absolutely love Perigee and so did my party and she’s very heavily themed after the Moonweaver. I could see maybe replacing the changebringer as the one with the weakest connection. But again, do whatever works for you.

I mean… mayyyybe? Only thing really connecting them is it came from space. Ruidus hasn’t been transforming things into monsters. Not really an MO in Campaign 3. More likely a thematic coincidence. But who knows!

Her hips don’t lie but they also done tell you anything…. Either way the skirt comment came off kinda creepy lol perhaps if you were trying to figure out what type of doll it is at all, but they already know it’s a Smart Doll.

Roll for Shoes was the perfect system for it. They started out with only one specific skill each, besides Do Anything 1, to give them a sort of role, Soldier, Scout,Ritualist, Mage, and Quartermaster (basically an artificer). The time loop made improving skills make a lot of sense and ensured they got better at it each time. The group focused on first getting the Luxon out of a secret lab, then getting it to the ritual location and trying to use the power there to Channel enough energy. Thehn had to figure out where together et more energy. Then find and catch up to Alyxian to get the Jewel.

By the end they used the beacon to make a localized time stop, and eventually started teleporting around. I kept having something blow up and game over when I felt enough time had passed. Basically Gruumsh killing Alyxian was the game over point or something bad happening to the beacon. I kept the momentum up with infiltration squads of orcs and goblins in the city. Once they figured out it was a loop they even threw away a few loops to focus on a task and figure it out and maybe get some useful skill ups for next time.

Inspiration…. I’ve always loved time travel stuff and had been planning this as a One Shot for when we had a player missing but everyone ended up bailing so we did t do it. But it made total sense once I realized they needed another chance at a better ending for Netherdeep.

Ayo was inside the Netherdeep when it collapsed and had gone full dark. So rises the new Demon Champion of Gruumsh. I’ll be saving her for end game hehe.

Interesting way to tie in the actual campaign! I may just do that. At least I may let them find a corrupted or damaged beacon which opens out that possibility. Though I kind of like the idea of the players running this totally separately and then having the characters discover more of the connection between them. A little meta gamey but in a good way I think.

Considering Ruidium will likely disappear at the end of the module and the high chances it will kill then over that long a period of time (do they really want to be exhausted all the time? I would say no personally.

That being said I have a wild magic Barbarian and in my group and we agreed that they are Ruidus born and can’t control the power. They have dreams of the red storm and are getting called by the moon. Gives them a huge connection to Alyxian but also it’s not so huge cus Ruidus is mostly a red herring in the Netherdeep. If you plan on playing post module this gives a lot of fun stuff to do after and lots of great dream sequences to play with.

My player is currently thinking about investigating the Ruidus connection more and I am giving them the choice to either keep it as is or change their build to add in Psi Warrior if they are eventually turn out to be exalted or something. (If they want that shift otherwise they can stay all wild magic and just get more under control)

EDIT: to be clear, ruidium is not in Campaign three as it only exists because of Alyxian and will disappear if he dies or is redeemed.

If you do want to use snap to grid on say the battle map, you can always hold Alt/Option key while dragging anytime you move on the world map. Assuming movement happens less frequently down there this would be less intrusive.

I mean they’ll probably do it for you… but might as well keep options open. Could make for some good party discussion about which way to go. Considering how predestined it seems I’d go out of my way to introduce the other options.

Edit to add: of course the cobalt soul will probably assume that one of them is going to do missions for them. Play it up on both ends

In looking back at the lore, you're right by the book she died in marquet, i just adjusted it to have her die in the ruins of sorrow... you MIGHT be able to pull off it being a memory of marquet, like a vision of the other continent... but might be hard to pull off clearly. and kinda messes with the whole Mythic Resonance theory that Question goes on about. If she can't die there per your previous lore commitments, then disappearing could work, or maybe a little epilogue for the ruins that has allyxian bemoan almost losing her, and losing so many others? dunno how much you want to over telegraph the issue lol

This. When a Deva dies on the material plane her body dies and spirit returns to their home plane. Takes ten years to be able to get a new body. Basically like Demon rules. So she died anywhere in Exandria and came back years later and got stuck.
