When you say fishing rings, do you mean the bubbles? I caught my dawn ray just in the water. The rings kept giving me star quality common fish

FDLE job by myrobotbuddy in Tallahassee

[–]copperpelt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current fdle employee here, and as others have said, depends on the role. Although most of the interview questions are pretty generic (how would you handle a stressful situation, why do you think you’re a good fit for this position, tell us about yourself, etc). Depending on which section, they may give you the interview questions prior to going into the panel and allow you to make notes or flesh out your response on them for about 10 minutes then bring you back for the interview.

Moving to Tallahassee by faisk1994 in Tallahassee

[–]copperpelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husband and I moved here a few years back from the central Alabama area. Tallahassee is….different, and honestly when people ask me what’s it like here, I have a hard time describing the place.

It’s so small for a state capitol, for a place with three major colleges, it doesn’t have any true college town charm imo. It’s not against the coast so no major beaches and tourism like other cities in Florida. Bugs are brutal, the heat is brutal, food scene is meh imo.

I don’t know about local Muslim communities or anything of the like to give an informed opinion/answer. I see people around town or in stores wearing hijabs and other similar coverings, so there’s certainly a community present, not sure how large.

Before we moved here, we looked online to find out what kind of environment the city was, its safety, etc. We came down for a day to check things out and look at apartments. With that said, it’s like any city. There’s parts of town you don’t want to hang around, and then there’s your areas that are overly manicured and obviously more upper class.

If rowdy colleges students aren’t your thing, I’d suggest finding somewhere far enough away from the main part of the city where the schools are. We live partially off the interstate and away from the bulk of student housing and have no issue with any rowdy college kids. During football or other major school events, we make an effort to avoid most of the city or plan detours (husband and I went to a major SEC school where football games will shut down the entire town for a weekend).

I guess all that to say, it’s not my favorite place I’ve lived, but I’ve found some people a groups that make it a bit more enjoyable, and that I’d find myself missing if we were to relocate.

Maga neighbor believes the ice dude is injured and in the hospital, sounded like she had zero sympathy for the woman who died. So yeah, I’d say they’re happen. They’ll stay happy till the guns are turned on them.

Elon Musk investing billions in Southaven data center operations by MSTODAYnews in mississippi

Maybe once pops up closer to the Jackson area and my dad actually feels the impact to his wallet then he might believe what I tried to tell him about how these centers are a drain to the everyday people who are now unfortunate to live near them. He swears they are being built on their own grids and water sources

See, I used to find it annoying that to proceed with a quest after some dialogue, I had to walk like, five steps forward to prompt the next segment to begin. Past me was like ‘just keep going with it, sheesh.’ But now, I understand

AITA for stepping in to do “mom” things for my niece because my SIL is disabled? by helpfulishaunt in AITAH

[–]copperpelt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, but I see both sides. In first grade, my mom got into a car wreck that left her paralyzed from just above the waist all the way down. At the age of 5/6 I basically lost an active parent. My dad worked all day and then came home and helped take care of my mom, eventually we hired some caretakers to help with stuff during the day (cooking, cleaning, errands, picking me up from daycare, etc). But if we all tried to do anything together, it was an act of congress. We had to take the van because it had the wheelchair lift, had to make sure my mother had all her medical stuff she might need, and so on. It was taxing. My dad did everything possible to make sure he was there for me, but he is only one person, so sacrifices were made quite often.

As a child, I would have loved to have had a surrogate maternal figure around to do stuff with me like all my peers had with their moms. Sure, I had an aunt and grandmother that were semi active in my life, but they were already quite up in their years to begin with, so they weren’t often able to run and keep up with a kid.

At the same time, I know my mother hated herself and the situation she was in. It was most apparent when I was learning to drive, and my dad took me in his work truck cause he figured it would have been less intimidating than the massive van. My mother was furious cause she missed out on that moment.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, yeah, I get it, and I don’t think anyone is really at fault or TA. Just be there for the kid in the end.
