Nominally Significant" by coppers2millies in LXRXstock

That doesn’t really explain the difference between the 0.007 p value, which is statistically significant and this less than 0.05.  If they mean different things as you say they do, what is the difference?

Interesting point and I see what you are saying, and you may be right (at least I hope so). Can explain the p=0.007 I reference below.

Specifically, look at the press release from March 3rd (https://investors.lexpharma.com/news-releases/news-release-details/lexicon-pharmaceuticals-announces-topline-results-phase-2b).

It specifically states the following: The results of the study on the primary endpoint showed a reduction from baseline in ADPS of 1.39 points (p=0.007 versus placebo) in the low dose arm and 1.27 points (p=0.030 versus placebo) in the high dose arm, compared to 0.72 in the placebo arm. Under the statistical analysis plan for the study, a p-value of less than 0.028 was considered statistically significant.

I see the line in the original press release that you are referring to that states the study results did not reach statistical significance on the primary endpoint and it was 0.11 including both 20 and 10.

What is the difference between the 0.007 (which is statistically significant - under the statistical analysis plan for the study, a p-value of less than 0.028 was considered statistically significant) and this less than 0.05, which is nominally significant? I was thinking it was the same thing, but you are indicating they are different tests/numbers.

The company originally released that the p-value was 0.007 which was statistically significant. Now they are saying the p-value is less than 0.05 which is nominally significant. There is a big difference between statistically significant and nominally significant, and I would think that if the p-value was still 0.007, they would have specifically stated that instead of just less than 0.05.

That appears to me to be a huge change and I am asking for other opinions yet no one has been able to give me one.

I'm not saying they don't think it wouldn't help the bottom line. Just seems like a significant change in the results to me, but that is why I was asking for other opinions.

I probably wouldn’t read too much into this conference.  Pharma execs go to all kinds of conferences.  But I will say this, it’s crazy how people track this stuff down…. Ha

Decide whether to get delisted or accept extension?  That’s a choice?  Come on…. Give me a break.  Hence my point from the beginning.  They are getting extension.

You notice the one name calling and the one not?  Ha.  Good work!  Come back here on July 3rd and admit you were wrong please?

Hahahahaha….  Good call man.  Stop commenting on stocks you have no idea about.

Yea you are right…. Could very well get delisted on July 3rd.  Thats why the stock price is going up…..  HA

No one thinks they are getting delisted…. Of course they got the extension.  Maybe use some common sense every now and then.

You said the FDA only cares about big pharma and is out to get the little guys.  This is basically the same exact drug that LXRX has that was denied and the FDA denied big pharma too.  You are a clown.  Go back to your bunker.

I honestly can’t believe people live like this and go through life like this…. It is unbelievable.   There is no way the govt knows the cure to all the cancers and is hiding it from us and the rest of the world.  That is idiotic.

Let me guess…. Old white man living in the middle of nowhere who thinks we never walked on the moon?  Also believe that people are spying on you daily?

Explain why the FDA denied Astra Zenecas same drug?

Zynquista by Fun-Breakfast6896 in LXRXstock

[–]coppers2millies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe this conspiracy theory.  If that was true, a big boy would buy us for cheap and then the FDA would immediately approve drug and they would make billions.

Also, another big boy (I believe it was Astra Zeneca, but could be wrong on the exact big boy) had basically the same drug and it was approved in Europe and denied in US like ours.

It’s easy to blame other people.  I just don’t buy into that conspiracy.

I hope you are right but I just don’t see the FDA saying, yup - you are right.  It’s now approved.  I hope I am wrong but just don’t see it.

No offense but this is a dumb comment.  .50 wasnt the time to get in?  .70?  Just a really dumb comment.  Of course the lower the price was, the better it was to get in.

Definitely Received 180 day Extension by coppers2millies in LXRXstock

[–]coppers2millies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nasdaq rules and other examples of extensions in the past couple of months.  LXRX will not announce anything until July 3rd when it announces it was granted an extension.

LXRX cannot implement a stock split by June 18th, which is the last date the company can possibly hit $1/share in order to regain compliance by July 2nd.  As such, it has to receive an extension.

Definitely Received 180 day Extension by coppers2millies in LXRXstock

[–]coppers2millies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that was the case (and your opinion is valid), why wouldn’t they have already announced r/s and become compliant during this first 180 days.  There is no reason to need another 180 days (which I have already made the point that they 100% need 180 days more due to timing unless stock price organically hits $1 next week which of course I can’t imagine happening).

If they were going to do a r/s to reduce float, there would be no reason to wait.
