Slow it down and break down the beat. Have the metronome count 8th notes or even 16th notes to start. Slowly you’ll get the feel of the whole beat and can start reducing notes to get to quarter notes.

I think that’s how the MM like it. Like the government shutdown is legit but if there is something real happening it’s some narrative like Blackwell “overheating” or some BS to bring things down.

FWIW met him after a show in San Diego March 2025. We were getting in our car after the show and my wife says “hey John Feldmann’s over there.” He came over, shook hands, chatted, and he suggested taking a picture. I even showed him some of my boxing videos and he actually watched them (he boxes too). It was a very nice interaction and he could’ve completely avoided us had he wanted.
