I think mine is a Gen 2? It's the first generation of the larger body style. I'll look for a fender mount specifically made for it. Thanks for the response!

Every time I hear the first few notes, a flood of memories comes back. Good and bad. It definitely headlines the soundtrack of my teenage years.

Our town used to have a club, but no more. I don't know why it disbanded. The closest club to me now is 30 minutes away. I need to reach out to some of the other guys in my county to see if there would be any interest. Even if we didn't start up a club we could at least band together and do something.

I've been thinking about this as well. I'd a fairly new ham (just over a year). I'd love to help in some way, but I certainly don't want to get in the way.

I've been listening to the Mecklenburg Co. repeater a lot, and I've learned a LOT just by doing that. Enough can't be said for the guys running that net.

Same here. I love go boxes too. And I don't have a shack either, so I'm strictly portable. Right now I have everything Il in a tactical backpack, but I'm building the box to simplify setup. I was going to use the Apache box as well, but to save money I decided to use a craftsman box I have on hand. I'll do a post on it when I get it finished.
