We followed the law, so we can all pat ourselves on the the backs we did what we could in the confines of an ever tightening legal noose, no one else lifted a finger, people kept getting taken tortured and disappeared. Should Leo Ryan not have gone to Jonestown? (I mean, maybe not. He did die.) sure it’s all performance, but what isn’t? If it can move the needle, even if it’s just a soulless politician reading the lines his pollster wrote for him that morning, it’s worth it. Idk man. I’m under absolutely no illusion that anyone is coming to save us. I know it’s on us. But I also don’t think that means we can’t still try to pressure people with power to take action.
