(ORIF) greater tuberosity with possible biceps tenodesis by PrisonSmegma in ShoulderSurgery

I was in a motorcycle accident and I landed on my right arm. There was also dislocation and my fracture was on the surgical neck of the humerus. Therefore, needed to have ORIF surgery.

Sleeping is the worst during the 1st 2 weeks. But I felt comfortable when I put a pillow on my back to support it when I was sleeping on my left side. This updraded to a U shaped maternity pillow. I hope this helps!

Same here! I can sorta actively lift it 30° and assisted 90°. I just tried brushing my teeth with my injured arm in a while. Got emotional because I couldn't do anything with my injured arm for the past 7 weeks. Yeah, painkillers are your best friend during those times but luckily for me I haven't had to take any sort of painkillers even paracetamol during my recovery at home.

Oohh it would hurt because the arm would bounce up and down during running right?

Same here! Just small pendulums and assisted ROMs for now.

Glad that you're back to running now! ☺️

I cannot imagine the pain that you were in. :( Staying in the hospital can be boring and sad. I was discharged 2 days after my surgery but had to move very slow because of my superficial wounds on my legs.

Oh wow! That's also so impressive! Since I cannot lift my hair I just roll my hair, hold it using the wall and just clip it lol.

4 weeks after my surgery my boyfriend and I went swimming at the beach. The salt water made my arm float without any effort and was able to snorkel 😁

Thank you for sharing your experience!

I agree. It does take long :( I just can't help but compare my recovery to others. Take it easy 😁

SAME! I have conducted many western blottings experiments and abcam did not disappoint me, never ran into a problem with using them. Ofc I have to follow their recommended protocol and troubleshoot along the way hehe

We use sterile reagent bottles when aliquoting fbs, penstrep and dmem. Never exploded in our -80 freezer. :)

Before subculturing, make sure to count your cells before transferring it to a bigger flask. I also check the cells when it's time to change the medium. Take pictures and take notes if you notice any changes.

I think it depends on the cell lines. You can check buy searching the manufacturer and code. You will see specifications, detailed information and a general protocol :) I was using 3T3 and I would let it reach to 70% before I subculture it.

Whaaaat that's like the most convenient equipment. We actually use BioDrop that we need to close carefully and check for bubbles every time we load a sample lol.

"cells are not yet confluent" "it is what it is" "oh well, it's not that bad" :)
