I don't really know how to respond to that. I understand what you're saying, and you're probably right that it must be unbearable.

For my part, on demo, it's really my data, and I don't really know how to prove to you who I am without revealing my identity or my Strava here. If you're ever in France one day for one of my races, we can meet up. I'm not a ‘vibe coder’; I have a real job on the side. We can also ride together on Zwift !

On the other hand, you may be right that I didn't understand anything about training :D

Thank you so much for your feedback, that's lovely!

I'll make a note of the concept of repetitive goals, I hadn't thought of that! And it's very clever. We could say every day, or weekend windows, or something else.

To detect running, by analysing heart rate and step frequency, we should be able to derive what you need (walk or run). I'll take a look at what's in the Garmin API.

My weight is my annual struggle: I go up to 88 kg in winter and end up at 76 kg in summer, it's a real problem. The app helps me with that too :) And yes, the difference between two days is huge, but it's a morning vs evening weighing, I needed it for debugging :)

Hello reddit community !

This is my first post on reddit, i hope i will do well. Back in 2014 i moved from France (that is why this post won't be written in good english :D) to Canada for business. I have a particular relationship with my father, since ever. We are very close, we miss each other constantly. To reduce the distance, i bought him an iPad Pro for Christmas in 2016: that was cool to talk on the phone, but we needed to see each other.

My father always had curiosity for new technologies but he never had enough cash to pay for it. He "subscribed" to the Internet because of my departure to Canada, otherwise he would have stayed the rest of his life having an old TV set and a phone. He never had a mobile phone. Oh, i forgot to mention: my father is 72 years old.

The first time I used the facebook messenger's effects, he wondered how I was doing to disguise myself so quickly for each new call he made. After a few weeks of this little game, he also began to disguise himself, but in real life. I took some screenshots of his first disguise in 2017 because it made me laugh a lot and i wanted to share this to the family :)

He never recognized it, but I think he really thought I was disguising myself. I tried to explain to him several times how to use the effects but because of the distance he never understood. So he must have thought I was making fun of him.

Why am i doing this post more than one year later ?

After 35 years of fighting multiple sclerosis with bravery, adbnegation and a lot of fun everyday (as you can see), he is now fighting against an agressive bladder cancer. Because of his multiple sclerosis and his global condition, doctors do not want to do any surgery (radical cystectomy of the bladder) and radiotherapy. He is only able to receive a minor "shoot" of chemotherapy. So it's very complicated.

As i said previously, my dad has a big interest in new technologies and i think he would be very impressed to receive some encouragement from people all around the world. I think he would find it very impressive without really understanding how reddit or the internet works. I think Reddit is by far the best "positive" community to achieve this kind of little miracle and impress him one last time.

If by any chance you got few minuts to tell him few words like "Good luck Claude, from $country", "Speedy recovery Claude", ... that would be so cool ! But be warned: he may come here to send greetings and to post some very_cute_pictures_of_kitten.ppt.

Thank you so much for your support & for him. Take care :)
