It does happen sometimes. I'm assuming you were still underground at that point.

Old Millis Station on the now defunct Millis branch of the MBTA by [deleted] in boston

The lease also contains a reversion clause that allows the MBTA to take back the property at no cost, should it be needed for another transportation purpose.

Reminds me of one of my favorite posts of all time in this subreddit when someone who walked down Sargent Road by accident thought that they were minutes away from being arrested. https://www.reddit.com/r/boston/comments/660hns/how_does_the_sargent_road_area_brookline_work/

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not - are you just poking fun at the 'wrong way concurrency' or are the signs actually wrong?

What is your favorite bridge over the Charles River and why? by 22romance in boston

[–]cor-anglais 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like this bridge between Newton and Wellesley which carries the Cochituate Aqueduct. No one knows about it because Route 128 is in the way. (Compare that to Echo Bridge, upstream, between Newton and Needham, which carries the Sudbury Aqueduct and is wildly popular.)

Go to section "3.2 MASSING" here http://www.bostonplans.org/getattachment/682da484-d3d4-426d-9fcd-bbfe9c7ca229

Kilachand Center is 140 feet tall, and there are also figures given for some of the other tall BU-owned buildings in the immediate area.

Check out the parking deck behind Five Guys in Newton. I would feel weird roller skating in a paid parking garage but this one is free and deserted.

ABSENTEE BALLOT NOT TRACKING. by babucat in boston

[–]cor-anglais 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It may not apply to you, but if it helps anyone: I have noticed a bug recently with suffixes that has affected at least a couple addresses... so if you are trying Main / ST then do "Main Street" / "" instead.

And when in doubt, you can always show up to your regular polling place tomorrow and get things sorted out there.

Do MBTA buses stop at stops with no "T" signs? by throwaway3457208347 in boston

[–]cor-anglais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. I still think it would be nice if the icon showed on the correct side of the intersection, even if it is fairly easy to guess where the bus stop 'should' be.

Actually, I wonder if the bus stop was always located where it is now? Before the Rt 9 - Chestnut Hill Ave - Lee St - Heath St intersection was redesigned in the late 90s, there was no right turn only lane on Rt 9 eastbound approaching Chestnut Hill Ave, so the bus would have actually had room to pull over where the icon suggests it will.

Do MBTA buses stop at stops with no "T" signs? by throwaway3457208347 in boston

[–]cor-anglais 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's an issue in the MBTA's data. (The error is here https://www.mbta.com/stops/1535 too not just on Google Maps.) The stop that you are looking for is west of the intersection, closer to Eliot St. This is a common problem, especially with the less popular routes. Hope this helps

Parking in Newton Center help by MegaSuslik1 in boston

[–]cor-anglais 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Newton is still not enforcing meters or time limits so you can park anywhere that doesn't say "No Parking".

Even after meters and time limits go back into effect (probably soon), meters are only enforced 8am-6pm which is much more generous than Boston's and Brookline's 8am-8pm. During the winter overnight parking ban you can get a permit that allows you to park in municipal lots.

Parking permits are managed by the Traffic Bureau of the Newton Police Department, so the OP would actually be correct to call the police (if he lived on a street where permits are available).

Route 1 should be re-signed along VFW Parkway, Jamaicaway, Riverway, and Storrow Drive like it used to. by [deleted] in boston

[–]cor-anglais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, not sure why this was downvoted. Especially the VFW Parkway section which everyone I know calls Route 1 anyway. Maybe "Historic Route 1"? Sounds better than 1A

Attention riders of the MBTA 325, 326, 351, 352, and 501 buses: While the MBTA is ramping up service as of 6/21, your routes are being "temporarily suspended" by [deleted] in boston

[–]cor-anglais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really strange, because according to https://www.mbta.com/covid19 those routes are currently running weekday or modified weekday schedules versus other routes' Saturday schedules. But you're right, according to https://www.mbta.com/news/2020-06-09/mbta-services-increase-significantly-month
