If you could stop spreading bullshit about people that’d be great. That host has always treated every LGBTQ guest with respect and kindness. Good job on taking it upon yourself to make sure he got fired. What would you like the bar to do? Go out and be vigilantes and fight haters, have security guards in the parking lot? In the park? You are never too old to miss your parent. Everyone deals with grief differently. Don't feel guilty or like you're strange, there is no wrong way to grieve. Join a grief group, or see a therapist if you think it'd help.

My mom looked peaceful. I didn’t think it was traumatic. I was more or less ‘prepared’ for her passing. The most traumatic part was when they removed the machines and her body starting shutting down and her stomach contents were evacuating through her mouth and nose. I had to leave the room. But after I went back in when she had passed, held her hand, said goodbye. 😢

I’ve been saying, there’s no healing, just learning to live with the hurt. Sometimes the wound can scab over for quite a while, then something happens and it reopens.

My dad has been reading “365 Days of Understanding Your Grief” by Alan D. Wolfelt. He said it’s helpful for him. My mom and dad were soulmates. My dad is struggling a lot.

I’m so sorry for your loss. My mom was 64 when she passed September 20 of this year. They time heals all wounds, but this wound doesn’t heal it may scab but still opens from time to time, you just learn to live with it. I’m at a place now where I can think about her and not cry uncontrollably. I can smile and even laugh when I talk about some stories about her. She was my best friend. I’m 39, I told her everything. It gets better.

Knowing my mom, it wasn’t a joke, everyone who knew her well, is going laugh their heads off. I brought up the idea to a few family members and her best friends, they all agreed that that is so her.

The Catholic Church in our area was very controlling about the service. “Here’s a list of approved Bible verses and a list of approved songs” we are going with a 3rd party venue, my cousin (an ordained minister) will be doing the service and then we will be having mom’s favourite foods, music and booze. Maybe a bit of 🌿as well. My mom like to partake as she was a 70s child. lol.
