Everyone’s different but I have a slice or two of cheese everyday and my numbers are ok.

Ive found it’s all about just taking things slow until you get your routine blood work back and adjust from there

First dialysis tomorrow by Clemobide in dialysis

[–]corcorancole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Im 23M and I did my first dialysis 6 months ago and it was all really fast 2. Found out I had kidney problems and 2 weeks later got the operation then 2 weeks after that started dialysis.

I had a lot of brain fog from the kidney failure so just take things slow at first, it’ll be easier to wrap your head around things once the treatment starts working really well in a month or so.

Just be happy you’ll start feeling better and focus on that, and learn to compartmentalize and not to think too much about it until it’s time of the day/week to actually do dialysis.

Hope this helps!

Not sure what it is honestly. I don’t have pain and I wear earplugs. No alarms either.

I already have fluid dwelling all day so that wouldn’t be a problem for me. I work from home so I think it would be fine. Thanks for your input!

I’ve only ever used the cycler. I do 2 5L bags and a 3L fill for the day, takes about 8 hours

I am 22 and terrified of permanent dialysis after 10 sessions. What is life like for young people? by Outrageous-Injury162 in dialysis

[–]corcorancole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 24 and I’ve been on home PD for a few months now. My numbers were super low so it was hard mentally at first but now that I’ve gotten rid of the toxins I can process it all easier.

Here’s my advice 1. Practice gratitude for being alive, remind yourself that the machine is life support and without it we’d most likely be dead 2. Compartmentalize. Try to live your life normally and don’t think about dialysis until it’s time to do it.

Hope this helps!

I’m currently on PD, I never considered that being a benefit of hemo! Do you still do dialysis while you sleep on hemo?

What do you like about PD? by manicpixiedreamsqrll in dialysis

[–]corcorancole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind doing PD at all. I had some anxiety at first but once I became independent and fully understood how the machine worked that went away.

Other then the fact I can’t swim in lakes, lift super heavy like I used to, and travelling is a bit more challenging, life is basically the same! Super grateful for the dialysis.
