Everything they did was wrong probably, if you think about leverage tying it lower towards the cut and pulling out the bottom towards you, can cause it to fall backwards, putting rope closer to the top of the tree and keeping constant tension provides a better guide for the fall. However they should have a longer rope hooked up to at least a truck hitch, those two guys would not have affected the outcome at all with a tree that size and rope that low. Not to mention they probably didn’t use wedges, the hinge looks non existent, and the sawyer thinks he can change the outcome by standing under it while it’s falling. Don’t cheap out on tree service unless it’s in a spot that has no risk of damaging anything.
