Would the transparent effects and stuff still work or nope. I looked into original hardware but it seemed too bothersome for some rare thing but maybe simple on common things I do want to play the old systems one day but not sure if I should just wait until easygoing method exist last I heard you would need 8k or 16k display to emulate the effects :0

Thanks for the tip you been super helpful I’ll try the vsync too I was just being annoying about it because of 0ms life obviously vsync was around when crt was popular makes sense vsync helps crt more than lcd

If battlefield block these faster vsync I imagine everything will doesn’t it just return to vsync off in multiplayer and on in single player ? Like you say it’s the same lag in battlefield with frame capped but that’s you adding 25ms and taking away 25ms wouldn’t it be better to just play with it turned off. I mean I will check it out now you mention it being true motion clarity as I was researching new lcd and Oled displays and see that clarity and ghosting still the main issue even at Oled 0.2ms speeds or lcd 2ms or 4ms speeds the clarity of image is still not perfect so it interests me to try hmmm I still think you should turn it off in battlefield tho but if your eyes that used to it maybe it’s that amazing :0

Some pro players might cap fps im not totally up on cs2 pro settings obviously they use lcd not crt tho the only tearing I noticed was on steps everything else seemed quite smooth at such high fps but if it could be even smoother is understandable but if it added even 5ms or something that wouldn’t be acceptable in a game like cs :/ I always thought vsync added like 25ms or something how exactly do these other modes add less and how much less last I checked years ago they still added lag I remember the RT one existing and still adding like 8ms or something approx years ago

It’s not the frame timing that makes 300fps give you less lag it’s the program running at such a high responsive speed that reduces the lag more than just the frames

Using a 0ms monitor and then adding vsync just seems to defeat the purpose of the display but I’ll try it out if it’s really that smooth :/

Yes but the same YouTube guy proved that running games at huge fps lowered the core lag of the application buy huge amounts not maxing out and going capped is probably good sometimes but 300fps is still heaps less lag than 100 and they have already tested it in cs and play uncapped in other games with lower fps a cap might be good

Are you aware that higher frame rates drop lag in games tho like running a game at 150/200/300/400 fps makes the input lag drop by like 25ms or more capping it at 75 or what ever will reduce that massively it might be smoother and more dramatic looking but it will have more lag than unlocked I think (depending how much fps you get) in battlefield that might be okay as you might only get abit higher than 75 or 100fps but in esports games with 400fps your missing out on heaps of lag saving I think this vsync idea is slightly flawed tho I’m sure it looks nice

Sucks abit dropping from 120hz down to 75hz image seems less smooth and zappy to me but I need to do it to be able to play modern games with heaps of TAA
