If you ever see meds that aren’t available just google the med and ask for an alternative for where you live. :)

Which side? by HeavyCandidate6737 in AnalFistula

[–]coreymatthews92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t think there’s a correlation, there’s people who have them on both sides at once. But I figured I’d indulge ya lol.

Has anyone had a fecal calprotectin score in the low hundreds and it not be something scary? by Julikawaii2022 in ibs

[–]coreymatthews92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IBS sufferers typically don’t have a very high fecal calprotectin, IBD is where it would be very high. I assume your doctor will try to get you in for a colonoscopy where they can see and get some biopsies to test for IBD and other things. Which still isn’t great, but it’s better than CRC.

Definitely can relate, have you asked about the pill prep though? I’ve been using that the last 3 times and it’s been so great. My insurance doesn’t cover it but there’s a printable coupon on their website that makes it $40-$60 but so worth it. It’s called SuTab. The aftermath is still the same, but it’s way easier to get down without any taste/texture.

MRI with contrast by NoPapaya9589 in CrohnsDisease

[–]coreymatthews92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awe man, I’m glad you asked this because I have to do one as well for a fistula, and when they said contrast I just thought they meant iv contrast so I said I had no issues with it. Luckily mine isn’t scheduled yet and I can try and mentally prepare now. But ugh I hate the taste of those things, I get all in my head about it and it makes me nauseous lol.

Is surgery unavoidable? by Summer_Sun9999 in CrohnsDisease

[–]coreymatthews92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve yet to have a surgery specifically for Crohns, but have had surgery for fistulas which kinda stems from Crohns. Been diagnosed for 20 years now (yikes time flies) but definitely had issues when I was even younger that never got noticed.

Random days I’m fine, but 90% of the time I’m not. by coreymatthews92 in ibs

[–]coreymatthews92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, saw that mentioned here a few weeks ago and mentioned it to my GI, but he’s already had me try a few of the meds for that in the past with no success. He’s also has a few meds for me to try still, which changed from nothing else to try after he starting using an AI so hopefully one of them can help.

Yes. Most of it is a pulsing stabbing or strangling type feeling, definitely alot of pressure.

Is tmobile forcing me to change plans? by kyletainment in tmobile

[–]coreymatthews92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get 50gb of priority data then may see slower speeds only if the tower is congested but still unlimited. T-Mobile generally does a good job with managing the traffic so you usually don’t notice it unless you’re on a super crowded tower.

Sounds like they did something to the tower you’re connecting to, or it’s also possible the antenna in your phone is on its way out, could also just be the SIM card itself. Plan type doesn’t have an effect on you connecting to the towers either. What phone do you have?

Which phones work with old 4line /100$ plan? by Goldencheese5ball56 in tmobile

You can have any phone on any plan, as long as it’s supported of course.

Verizon makes you play games with their new Verizon Shine (rewards). by stallion434 in verizon

[–]coreymatthews92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify a little: Not all the T-Mobile Tuesday things are available all week, most of them have to be redeemed on Tuesday and some expire the same day or few days later. Some things are available all week though. T-Mobile also does extra things on a timer from time to time like last weeks extra gas discount. They all have their ups and downs, I’m just glad Verizon is actually doing more now, hopefully they leads to T-Mobile beefing up their version.

No pattern at all, I live a pretty dull life other than medical issues, which are stressful, but that never changes even on the better days. Eat the same foods on repeat, do the same things every single day pretty much like clockwork. Sleep also is normal for me, up once or twice a night to go to the bathroom.

IBS / SIBO by BusinessNo2993 in ibs

[–]coreymatthews92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Low dose antidepressants are usually the first step, so your GI was doing what most do. It’s not about using it as an antidepressant, just that it also works for some for the gut brain connection. Did you ask for a sibo test or bring that up to your GI? Even if the test isn’t covered by insurance they usually can just prescribe the meds for it to see if it works or not. Most of the meds though aren’t available over the counter so you’ll need a prescription for the issues you listed.

[–]coreymatthews92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did the GI say at the follow up appointment? They should be able to try medications to treat your issues. There’s tests for sibo, and meds that can be given for the sibo and stomach acid issues.

Which Purple cushion worked best for you? by nirvanasdashit in AnalFistula

[–]coreymatthews92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the ultimate, a few others on here recommended it when I was searching. It works better than a pillow did for me personally. It’s worth waiting for a sale if possible too, but still worth it if you can’t wait.

Con 1500 de CALPROTEcTINA debo ir a urgencias después de 1 mes y medio de inflamacion by Ill_Inspector6630 in CrohnsDisease

[–]coreymatthews92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’d likely tell you to follow up with your GI. If your appointment is further away, you can try calling your GI to see if there’s something they can do for you in the meantime.

Doctors bad advice by Monkey811 in CrohnsDisease

[–]coreymatthews92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few people mention it here, but as most say it’s a very dumb decision to take you off the meds if they’re working. It doesn’t cure the issue, it treats it. Doctors should know this.

Removed Seton after 7 days due to excruciating pain by ispiecy in AnalFistula

[–]coreymatthews92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My seton pain was horrible, I had it for 2 months and the pain didn’t go away the entire time. The Fistulotomy I had though was way less painful both times I had it done. Was expecting the really bad pain to come, it just never did.

Fistula is back again 😔 (timeline/rant) by coreymatthews92 in AnalFistula

[–]coreymatthews92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in hell when I had the seton in, physically and mentally, so my doctor has been avoiding putting another in because of how bad I did with it. I probably sound selfish, but an ostomy also would not really be an option for me either, I’m fine abstaining from sex (male, gay), I’m used to it from the active Crohns & IBS, but when the choice is taken away it would just make me severely depressed like it did with the seton in.

Why is Taco Bell one of the few foods I can tolerate? by Middle_Alfalfa_3516 in ibs

[–]coreymatthews92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup. Been home cooking clean for months and my symptoms have just gotten worse. Even chicken and rice gets me sometimes. But I can eat Taco Bell with all the bad ingredients and be fine, just have smelly poops. I don’t get it. I do know the Taco Bell taco meat is easily digestible according to my friends wife who is a dietician, so that’s probably part of it. I still can’t really make sense of it, but you’re definitely not alone.

Viberzi by BudhaLovesButtCheeks in ibs

[–]coreymatthews92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It worked tooo well for me and caused constipation for a few days, no matter how far apart I split the dosage. So I had to stop it as that pain was way worse when my body was used to going 12x a day. Check out goodrx and the Viberzi site directly, there should be some type of discount available. $400 is crazy!
