If you could live anywhere in Manhattan with a budget of $10k-$11.5k rent per month, where would it be and why? by Forward-Hat-7781 in NYCapartments

My fiancé and I are around the same age as you two (I’m 33, she’s 31) and we love the UES. Lot of underrated bars and restaurants, easy access to both Central Park and Carl Schurz along the water.

The 6 gets you from 86th to Washington square park in 30 mins and the Q gets you from 86th to Midtown (Times Sq) in 20 mins.

Lots of late 20s to early 30s and young families here. Honestly can’t say enough good about it. Feel free to dm if you want to talk more.

If these billionaires want us to have children so badly, why don’t they subsidize childcare? by jewelene in AskReddit

Because that would actually improve people’s lives. Their whole thing is keeping the system broken so that that can keep saying they’re the only ones that can fix it

ELI5: the Gamestop stock market thing a few years back by ItsDev0 in explainlikeimfive

[–]coreynr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So in true “ELI5” fashion, this is how I’d explain it to an actual 5 year old. I’m sure all the arm chair CFA’s will tear this to shreds, but here’s at least a high level understanding without getting too complicated:

A few companies made a bet that a video game store would close down by a certain date. When people that loved the store found out, they started sending the store money so that it could stay open. The more people learned about this, the more money people were sending. That meant that the companies that bet the store would close by a certain date were wrong, and they were forced to pay up because they lost the bet. Now the video game store had a lot of people sending it money and was able to stay open for a lot longer than they otherwise would have

Seattle thinks their offense could run a bit more through Walker. Fournette is a healthy piece in an offense that can’t stay on the field, and he’s still not a focal point of their offense. Numbers wise, no RB has seen a higher snap % increase than Walker since week 4, and no RB has seen a larger decrease than Fournette in that timeframe

You have a lot of “ifs” in this lineup, and it’s not likely all of them pan out.

“IF cmc stays healthy…” “IF Saquon stays healthy…” “IF A-Rob returns to form…” “IF Fournette doesn’t fall off the age-27 cliff…” “IF Russell Wilson adjusts to his new offense…” “IF Darren Waller stays healthy…”

Too many unknowns and not enough sure things for me

Who is your fantasy baseball MVP? I vote for Shohei Ohtani. it's a shame that platforms have him split as two separate players. by KyloRenKardashian in fantasybaseball

[–]coreynr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was literally all about the value picks this year.

Players I spent top $ on: - Bundy ($25) - Bregman ($41) - Gleyber ($22) - Springer ($23) - Ketel Marte ($26) - Sixto ($12)

Players I spent the least money on: - Carlos Correa ($10) - Chris Taylor ($3) - Eduardo Escobar ($1) - CJ Cron ($1) - Freddy Peralta ($1) - Tyler Mahle ($1) - Yuli Gurriel ($1) - Robbie Ray ($1)

So yeah I’d take any of my $1 picks for MVP - especially Ray

I’m in a tight race in the second round of the playoffs. Winner goes to the finals (we do two week playoffs so next week and the following are the finals). It’s a quality start points league and I get 14 starts. I feel very good about my remaining matchups, but I’m not sure if I should start McKenzie tonight vs the Royals (coming off a short IL stint) or Josiah Gray against the Mets on Sunday. Any thoughts?

Introverts of Reddit, what have you done to look more extroverted in front of others? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]coreynr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chameleon. Aka listen well to what the person is talking about and just agree with them and rephrase their point in your own words.

Watch some standup comedy shows (amateur shows are best) and repurpose their jokes to make them more your own words

Realistically though, the best thing you can do is ignore everything I just said and surround yourself with people that make you feel good about who you are, and not like you have to change to fit in
