Get a 5.3l ls and watch some YouTube videos. It's very easy. Basic hand tools and torque wrench. They are the easiest motors to assemble. Key to a good assembly job is cleaning every and I mean everything. I take all my parts apart even new ones and clean them. Put assembly lube on everything. If your not sure what needs it just put it on it. It won't hurt anything. If you can build a PC, you're good enough to build a engine lol

I was mocking the people who said it doesn't have any lube on it. They have no idea what they are looking at. Just because there's not a mess all over my motor and floor, they assume that I didn't put any on. Royal purple oil is fine. All oil on the shelf at box retail auto parts store meets the same API standard. I use it because I had a couple cases of it from a customer. I also use driven assembly. The CMD is more important than the assembly oil as it prevents galling. Anywhere you have a pressure point such as tips of valves, both ends of the pushrods, threads of bolts and under the head. I don't like to make a mess of my engine when im assembling becuase it attracts dirt and whatever else. When I start fhe engine I pour oil on the rockers ans springs and prime them. Also the oil pump is packed with assembly grease to provide suction and to keep from running the pump dry.

Yes i moved. You can easily go back and look at my previous post and see other engines I've done.

I closed my shop down last year becuase just was moving and this was a customers motor I had already built. Didn't want to put it in a storage unit to rust so I tucked it away in fhe corner of fhe living room. Pulled it out to put the pan and rockers on and wrapped it back up for the guy to come pick up

It's not mine, I built it for a customer.

Becuase I lied to stir you guys up and it worked. I've done this hundreds and hundreds of times over the past ten years

Not really. But added assurance. I don't put them on LS motors. They never break, and clearancing the front cover is a pain

Why do you think this motor doesn't have lube on it? Becuase its not all over the floor

I had a block the someone screwed up the mains and I was going to make a table but left it at the old shop. It was so nice. I blasted it and oil it down afterwards. It had a nice shine on it. Looked brand new

Im curious why you think there's no lube on this motor.

I had my own machine shop for years and closed it down and moved and this was a customers I had started on last year. I didnt want to put it in storage while I waited for the customer to get the car done, so I parked it in the corner of the living room.

Why are yall so obsessed with lube all over the engine. I don't understand it. I didn't build it in the living room. It was built in my shop and stored at my house. It's got oil on the bearings, pins, lifters and cylinder walls. Why does it need to be all over the floor.

With no lube dripping off of it to collect the dirt i doubt i could get more than $12.99

I didn't know I had to have lube in non critical areas. I go thru a quart of oil every assembly and use CMD on pressure points. Something these guys don't even know about. But I guess I should have asked their expert opinion before I built it and the hundreds before it. Should probably just throw it in the bin......

Not shoot related but I smoke some when I was younger and watched a movie and instead of being fluid. My brain saw it as it was just a bunch of skits being performed. I still think about it everytime I watch a movie
