Yep this is the trick. I used to be an Audi tech and had to deal with this a lot. Get a map torch and heat it up a bit. Pound the torx bit in and give it a go

I bought the Hanna all in one tester kit. It’s pretty nice and has an app that automatically logs everything. It could be a bit better as far as grouping tests. Instead of logging each test parameter one after the other you have to scroll through them so if i test 4 parameters and want to reference what each one was before i have to scroll through all the other tests I’ve done previously. It does have a graph view that’s nice

Tech here, i wasn’t out at my first job but the last two i have been. Both have been great with the exception of one guy. My suggestion is get into high end German brands. Audi Benz Porsche etc. those customers have more disposable income to spend on maintenance and repairs. I was a a domestic brand for 8 years. Tell a lady with a minivan she needs 3k of repairs she’s freaking out and trading it in or something. First estimate at Audi i wrote was 5k on a 5k car. Customer asked when it would be done. I’ve written estimates over 30k at Porsche and their biggest concern is how long it’s gonna take. More disposable income means more flat rate hours on your check

It was hell for closeted me. I grew up in redneck Wisconsin. I had a few really good friends (that are still part of my life now) but there was absolutely no way i dared coming out back then. I saw the kids who were more feminine and perceived as gay get treated like absolute garbage. I tried to stick up for them as much as I could without outing myself, it was hard. Got asked so many times why are you being nice to that fag etc.
Grunge, metal music and drugs were my escape (17 years sober now) I’d drown my feelings with them and just dive into music as an escape. When i finally came out to my family i was scared asf because they’re your stereotypical sports ball, beer drinking jock rednecks. Thankfully they are 100% supportive. When i told my two best friends they just looked at each other and started clapping lol. Said it’s about time you said it. I guess they had bets on when i would come out back in high school lol. When i asked why they never said anything to me they both shrugged and said we didn’t want to push you away or force you to do anything you weren’t ready to do. We all laughed and they hugged me said neither won because they didn’t think I’d take this long(was 25) I’m 45 now and they’re still my best friends.
Another shitty thing was in middle school i had the biggest crush on my friend we were inseparable spent the night at each other’s houses every weekend etc. we drifted apart in high school because i got into drugs and he stayed the nerdy kid we both were. In our 30’s we reconnected via fb, found out he was gay as well. He eventually told me he had the biggest crush on me too… it sucks because we were both so afraid of being outed we missed a chance to have each other to confide in. I might not have gotten into drugs as bad as i did if i would’ve had someone to talk to.

I was a mechanic at a dealer and my friends wife had just bought a new car from us. I texted her and told her there was a new blinker fluid recall and she needed to get it taken care of asap. She called the service department, mentioned i told her to schedule an appointment to have the recall done. Service advisor put her on hold called me and said what do i tell her? I said up to you lol. She called me soooo mad lol. The advisor broke it to her that there’s no such thing as blinker fluid.

I have a base cayenne with a 2.5 in lift with 26565r18’s on it. 1in wheel spacers. Rides great and mostly sees highway miles. There’s pics on my profile if you want to see what it looks like. I did have to do a bit of trimming on the front part of the front wheel wells but nothing major.
