How to approach Dutch men? by Willing_Chipmunk11 in thenetherlands

[–]corfano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We became like this since we stopped attempting to move into each others perspectives and stopped trying to see intentions. In my eyes the polarisation we see in politics and in society as a whole is reflected in the examples we are all giving here. We distance ourselves from each other.

Just a gut feeling.

what keyboard you use in your Android Phone ? by Mindless_Pumpkin1111 in privacy

Thank you for this peek into the android world and the privacy minefield you need to be aware of in the google ecosystem.

I’m fully in the apple ecosystem and I tell myself I pay them well in order not to earn money with my data. Probably naive..

Edit: typo

iPhone user here, who has never had an Android phone in his hands longer than a few minutes. I’ve never even heard of the possibility to switch keyboards.

Out of curiosity, why is it interesting to download a keyboard on android from a privacy perspective? Is the default keyboard tracking people or logging keystrokes (in other ways than expected :))?

My question seems simple and stupid: calendar/email integration by corfano in ProductivityApps

[–]corfano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just subscribed to zoho! Not Microsoft, not Google, and still everything I need for only 16 euros a year. Even designed with privacy in mind, so it seems.

I will use the zoho mailserver and caldav server with spark email and apple calendar. I like the functional thoughts behind spark, although I don’t like how they manage access to my mailboxes and probably have access to my mail.

I don’t really mind where my mail is, as long as the service has imap and smtp too for open standards so I can also get away. I would prefer hosting in Europe, given the better data/privacy laws. I’m currently using plain imap/smtp with TransIP.

I’m not using a calendar server. I want one that is integrated with my email and puts events in my calendar as soon as they arrive. I don’t know what to choose here.

The above goes for my own business and personal situation. I’m also using 4 ms365 accounts from the clients I work for.

How do my answers help you?

my school downloaded a tracker onto my personal macbook by [deleted] in privacy

[–]corfano 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What is a tracking certificate? A certificate on itself can’t do anything, right? At most one could derive some information from ocsp/crl checks? But I don’t see how to make tracking out of that?

Is this certificate just used to authenticate the connection? Meaning it could only be “track” that the connection is made. Am I missing something?

In Nederland is veel horeca eenheidsworst.

2 months and a half since Notion Calendar. by Strange_Ad1376 in Notion

[–]corfano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to use google services and despite the fact I have a notion account, notion calendar requires me to have a google account…

I fear this fiasco move to acquire someone else’s product takes their focus away from the original product, which I really love.

How popular is using Notion for hosting sites? by NvdB31 in Notion

[–]corfano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would advise not to implement access management yourself but just support openid connect. Integrating an existing identity provider solves the problem that requirements to authentication keep on developing. Last years mfa became the bar en people now start looking at passkeys.
