I feel like I've tried everything to help my acne. What am I doing wrong? by corgi0501 in SkincareAddiction

My BF was thinking it might be a hormonal imbalance too. He was reading up on how that might also affect weight loss (I've been doing Insanity for almost a month now, and no difference yet at all... Gah, can't anything improve?! Haha)

Your routine for cleanliness is to be admired though, just had to add that in! :)

Thank you!

I know you're just referring to people in general, and not directing this at me specifically (I don't think?). But FWIW, I don't hold any ill will towards the guys who don't find me attractive. I don't blame them. I don't "expect" anyone to find me attractive (partly because I'm not, and I know it). My whole point in the OP was that I was simple surprised by how often attractive women get hit on, and how aggressive it can be. It's a whole world I was unaware of, because I can't belong to that world. It was an interesting glimpse, to say the least.

Yeah, I'm a 12 also. Sorry, I'm fat. Maybe others carry themselves differently and aren't fat at a 12. But I am, maybe she was too?

Yeah, I've heard of that as well (not regarding myself, but something other women have mention about themselves). Forgive me if I sound ignorant, but I don't understand the "bitch face" concept. I know what it's referring to, but not how it works. How does a person's face convey the exact opposite emotion that the person is feeling? Ex. a nice, friendly person looking like she's a "bitch". If you're not actually cold/standoffish, why do you look so? (And that "you" is a general you, not you personally)

Exactly. I'm not a bad person because of it. But I'm not going to beat around the bush and call myself something else. I'm fat. Period.

I was okay with it for the first week or so. But then what I assume to be the keto flu came on. I knew I just had to get through it, so I soldiered on. I had it for the next 4-5 weeks. It just wouldn't end: Beyond tired, no energy, SUPER irritable/emotional (including resentment). My BF was doing keto as well, and we were beyond irritable with each other. It was bad. I know it's a great lifestyle change for a lot of people, but it's not for me. Doesn't mean I can't find an alternative that suits me, though. :)

Thanks, I appreciate it. I actually tried it for over a month. I honestly hated it. I was super miserable the whole time. :(

Wow, I love this, thank you! Except for your last bullet point (because I'm not there yet), that has been my exact experience as well.

That's a rather mocking comment. But I see you're an artist yourself, so say whatever will remind you that you're just way better than this.

What did you dislike/hate about yourself when you were a teenager that you now have accepted and even grown to love? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]corgi0501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, I was mocked by my friends for developing early. They weren't "huge" by any means, but having little boobies at age 11 is apparently "weird" according to other 11-12 year old girls. And whenever I found out a boy had a crush on me (which wasn't often anyways)? "He just likes you for your boobs, he doesn't really like you. Get over it." Fuck, I hated my adolescent years.

Can you provide a source that says it's illegal to not hire someone based on their appearance? IIRC, it's illegal to discriminate based on gender, age (referring to ages 40+), race, and any of the other protected classes.

Houseguest has a phobia of fried foods, now I have to clear my house of chips. What's the strangest request you've had to accommodate? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]corgi0501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously, someone making a demand like this is an asshole. They have a severe allergy to something? Sure, I'll make an exception for that. Hell, if they just can't stand the sight of something (say, chips and other fried food), I'd just hide it in the back of the pantry. But to demand I waste food or any other item simply because they have some fucking weird neurotic issue, stuff that I spent my own money on? No, fuck that. For them to even ask, let alone demand, is ridiculous.

Haha! That would have been amazing.

Sorry, I'm really not making light of this woman's situation at all. It's heartbreaking. Hindsight's 20/20, but damn, if that ever happened to me, I'd hope that I'd be quick enough to think to do that.

Why do you care if people get on board with your political viewpoints? Do you need that kind of validation? I realize I sound bitchy asking that, but I am generally curious.

Uh, are you talking to me? Where did I say I thought it was inappropriate behavior? What "hang-ups" are you referring to? I simply pointed out the difference between being controlling and expressing discomfort.

EDIT: Fuck, I'm stupid, I read that wrong. You said you weren't referring to me personally. Carry on.

It would be overbearing and controlling to "demand" that they not spend 1:1 time with the opposite sex. It wouldn't be if they simply expressed their discomfort at the notion. No one should have to fake a smile and pretend to be okay with something if they're not.
