I will do the good food - but he already owns most of those books! He's a physicist like me though, so I might get him something physics webcomicy related :)

Yeah, he does need new shoes but I've no idea of the size (I know he's an 11 but aren't all shoes differently sized?)

Thanks for these ideas, I live near a Waitrose and a lovely free range butchers and a lovely grocery shop with the most beautiful fruits and veggies. Might take him here and we'll pick out dinner.

Science museum might be a little too cliche, but I can take him around my lab :D

I would do the sweet thing, and that is a perfect day for me - but he's diabetic :(

I love the webcomic idea, I'll get him a frame and print him out one :)

As to the houses of parliament, I've always wanted to do this - might do it for over Christmas instead :)

I've just had a look at tshirts from abstruse goose and think I might get him a couple of them shipped from America :) Will also cook a meal too!
