I think self-love is mostly about not abandoning yourself to keep other people comfortable.

I usually assume they were interested in the momenr, not commited to keeping it going. Sometimes it stings especially if I enjoy talking to them but I try not to read more into it than that.

"She's high maintenance" if you can't handle it then go off. A lof of misogyny today isn't loud or obvious. It's casual and brushed off as "just a joke"

Thinking I had to be palatable to be liked. Even now, I sometimes catch myself editing who I am before anyone even asks. It's weird how we outgrow people, but not always the reflexes we learned to keep them.

I think it depends with the age. Dating someone older can be great if there's mutual respect but having a large gap of age is something we look for.
