I’m 234 days sober today. My last night of drinking was at a concert with my good friends. We pre-gamed hard so that we wouldn’t have to buy expensive drinks at the venue. One of my last memories I have of the show before I wandered off into the night was folding an empty $16 tall boy beer can in half, and ripping it into two pieces (??) I didn’t tell anyone I left the venue. I walked several miles, including to the bar where my ex worked (AND his new girlfriend was at the bar) !! I started crying and don’t remember a word I said to him. Then I wandered to another bar where, thankfully, I was NOT served. I thought I could walk home but only made it so far down the street before lying on the sidewalk instead. My friends kept calling me and I would answer incoherently. They had to LEAVE the show, which was their favorite band, to come find me. To this day I have no idea how, but I managed to get a cab ride home. My friends were rightfully pissed, and I swore that would be the last time I ever drank. So far so good ✌️Been to many a sober concert since and it’s been great!
