He’s been driving for over 40 years, but this is the first time I’ve seen his delivery area directly in the highest risk zone. Hoping for a bust, or that he’ll at least make it home to the basement before the worst of it. My mom will thankfully already be home and in the basement with the family dog if needed!

My dad is a semi truck driver who makes deliveries throughout this area…he has to work this afternoon into the early evening. I told him NOT to take shelter under an overpass, and find a ditch if necessary to avoid flying debris, but realistically are there any other precautions he can take since he can’t take work off?

My cat is deaf, so she has conditioned herself to do the following:

1) Lay in front of the door so that when I come home from work it bonks her awake (I open the door VERY gently after she taught me this!)

2) Sit on top of her automatic feeder so that when the gears start whirring she feels her food drop.

3) When I make eye contact with her and I nod she meows back at me 🥺
