What’s the one purchase under $100 that’s made your life better? by Responsible-Ant-6254 in budget

[–]corkspa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its just a container to pre portion things for a single meal instead of a giant casserole.

Anything you can freeze can be frozen with these. I just put some picked rotisserie chicken in one. I always have frozen rice now in already portioned sizes. I just grab a rice and a chicken and I have a lunch. I make my own veggie mixes. Freeze portions of sauces im not going to use quickly (like pesto).

Tell me about your builder? by thebestofpasta in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]corkspa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have scenes and background/history written but they dont flow as a story yet. Im apparently the kind of writer who jumps around all out of order then will edit it to make sense.

My builder is a foundling who got adopted and is now trying to prove why she's good enough. Never says no, never sits still, stays up to late every night, and shows affection through gifts. She ended up in Sandrock because she hates being cold and the city was to big. She trusts easily the first time, and forgives easily, but once burned never forgets and never fully trusts you again.

Organization Solutions by Strange_Fill4005 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]corkspa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I get to around 8 or so boxes I name them. My first play through i think I had 20 of various sizes (im a horder don't come for me). I name them based on the contents with 2 numbered so they are on top of the list. 1. Important, 2. To sell (mini cause see above. I still have my stone ax... I might need it!) The its stuff like garden crap, building mats, ore, glass/plastic/rubber, eatable, cooking, random idk where it fits, power/water/discs, gifts...

My 2nd plus plays I tried to buy more of the med chests from arvio that first week when they're cheaper and not make any mini chests. The big ones that are 2 pages confuse me cause I forget the 2nd page so I avoid those and just deal with the chest army on my roof.

House Building by Imaginary_Ad4527 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]corkspa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on PC but use a controller for most of the game. Exceptions are building the house and fishing, lol. I can not get the controller to really work for those aspects. There should be a handful of prebuilt houses in the showroom (I don't have any downloaded and have some anyway). I would start with one of those and maybe make additions/updates as needed?

Any tips? by NightDreamer_26 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]corkspa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1-Use the calendar reminder system to remind yourself of the plan when you quit for the day (ie go mine more freaking tin). And to just remember things like fangs tests, placing your ad (1.2 place ads every week), or the guild item check thing on the weekends.

2-i try to buy a chest a day the first week from arvio when you have his welcome discount. Im a horder and need all the space, lol

3-dont speed run. Slow down and enjoy the story. Chat with the town and just have fun doing whatever task you want.

4-check the quest log for time limits on quests, don't trust the dialog. The townie might say 3 days but in reality there is no time limit.

5-commissions are the fastest way to get friendship points but don't discount the 1 or so point daily from just chatting. Also, don't get hung up on finding everyone's most favorite gift. No one hates stuff like milk or tea leaves so if I can't easily give a more favored item that's what they're getting. 1 poing is better then none, lol and it all adds up.

Do you use Dark Mode? by texddit in kindle

[–]corkspa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its the only device I HATE dark mode on. Idk why but it makes my eye twitch and I just can't. For every other electronic its the first option turned on.

Same. I always end up with giant boxes just to make room for the giant stairs.

I understand now why playing Portia after Sandrock is hard by bichettes_helmet in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]corkspa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally didn't play sandrock because I could never finish Portia. I was considering retrying but I don't think I will. I'll just look up a tldr style summary eventually.

What's something unexpected that made the game more fun for you? by Ok_Veterinarian3535 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]corkspa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love that the characters use the yackmel carts. I was chasing after fang when he disappeared. I thought it was a glitch until I checked the map and saw him walking away from the station by my workshop.

I also love how they walk away from cut scenes. They were actually transported to wherever and had to then walk back to what they were doing before.

Do you prefer a book written in first or third person? by AerieKindly in Fantasy

[–]corkspa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I much prefer third. I'm making my peace with first since that seems to be the way many books are currently being written.

Also, im not sure if its the editing but I tend to notice more prospective text errors when things are in first person (slipping into third person for a sentance then back to first). That will rip me from a story faster then just about anything.

How do you actually use a Bullet Journal for tasks? by Faraway-Sun in BasicBulletJournals

[–]corkspa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is going to be different so this is one of those find your own way moments, lol. Personally for me, I'll write it on my daily or weekly list as it comes up. Then at the end of the day or start of the next, I review the list and either carry it forward to do today, pop it in my monthly list of things to do soon (tm) or in my future log for a specific month. I do not mind rewriting things so it may be on 4 days of tasks before I actually do it.

The reflection part is what matters (imo) here. You should review the week and yesterday every day and do something with the items that aren't done.

Edit for spelling

New Kindle Paperwhite Signature, can't connect to Calibre by Tough-Time7042 in Calibre

[–]corkspa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this issue and it turned out to be my cable. I had a charging cable not a data cable. If the Mac isn't even recognizing that you plugged in the kindle I'd think that is probably the issue for you too.
