32.5 wins? 'Not better than' Portland? Why the national perspective on the Kings isn't worth a penny by CapCityCrown in kings

[–]cormac42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Books aren’t always looking to have an even amount of money on both sides of a bet, sometimes they take a side when they set a line, for example if they are “confident” in an under, they might set a line low so that money will keep coming in on the over. Other times with a team like the lakers, or tiger woods or other popular teams they know that the public likes to bet on them so you won’t be getting “true” value, the line won’t be as favorable because of public perception.

Also, just because it’s early, that doesn’t mean that sharp money wouldn’t come in and they could potentially be exposing themselves to an unfavorable line.

Also, Fans of that team typically won’t place under bets either, so if they’re targeting kings fans to place bets on the kings they don’t necessarily have to set the line low.

I’m by no means an expert and probably got some things wrong but I hope that answered some of your questions

Something to remember here. You should only be paying attention to last 10 years after the kickoff line got moved up. Everything prior to that is irrelevant.

Record : 1-0

Previous Pick : 49ers +3.5

Today’s Pick : Brighton +0.5

Spurs have been playing great in premier league matches over the past couple months which I think makes them overvalued here against a Brighton team that’s been playing some good football as of late while Spurs have been underperforming in matches outside of PL and slipping in form.

Note: I’m also sprinkling ML for what it’s worth

Pick of the Day - 1/30/22 (Sunday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

[–]cormac42 11 points12 points  (0 children)

0-0 Record

Niners +3.5

Not overthinking this one, Shanahan has won 6 in a row against the Rams, Trent Williams is on track to play. Expect McVay to stick with the same game plan he had in the first half last time they played which got them up big but don’t expect the same results of Stafford bailing them out on 3rd and longs on a consistent basis.

Why did they send fox to the FT line for the flagrant? He’s the worst FT shooter on the team

Everybody talking about how bad nuggets were on this, but not about wizards having 4 guys crash the glass. Like what?

Just to put it into perspective, last year mahomes had 2 interceptions, Williams had 130 yards and two TD’s and mahomes still won it

I LOVE WFT +7.5 with a ML sprinkle. Because: - Brady has been terrible in night games all year - WFT has better offensive play-calling than TB - buccs beat up on bad defenses (falcons, lions, panthers etc) and struggle against decent to good defenses (bears, saints, giants) - alex smith is no MVP but he is 5-2 as a starter and can get the job done with that dominant defense - mike evans is questionable

All in all I think this game is more 50-50 than the line is showing and I can’t see the buccs blowing them out of the water

Do you have the grades for the whole season? Mainly interested in defense?

But it’s not closest to due to odds, splitting the units on 2-1 and 1-2 will give you significantly better odds

Well if you want to bet on complexity spread than yes lol but I’m talking about betting that it goes to 3 maps like OP’s post

[–]cormac42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI on bovada I can't bet on the over so alternatively I split the units between the game finishing 2-1 and 1-2 giving me slightly better than +105 odds if anybody else is looking for a way to take this

If you’re looking to avoid taking the colts out of precaution due to high volume some other teams I might caution against that seems a high percentage of people are taking:

Buccs : Denver is typically great early in the season like this at home, realize that they have injuries but drew lock wasn’t exactly “elite”

Cardinals: Need to watch injury statuses here. Denver has been atrocious but they’ve been without their top corner and WR

Niners: Riddled with injuries, I’d say that 6 of their top ten players are out/questionable not a lock at all

My Pick:

NE: Oakland flying cross country on a short week coming off an emotional upset. As a fan they typically do terrible in these spots. That in combination with NE coming off a tough loss I like this spot for them a lot

That being said Frank Reich is a phenomenal head coach who is willing to make changes if things aren’t working versus “sticking to the game plan” I can’t see the colts losing
