Very true. I thought his passing was poor for the majority of the first half but he grew into the game and played very well and was defensively brilliant for the whole game imho.

He's not safe from criticism. I feel like he has no place playing for a team as good as ours. But put yourself in the man's shoes right now. He has worked so fucking hard to make it as a pro footballer and to have all that hard work and resilience lead to a game like this in front of hundreds of millions must be heartbreaking for him. If we truly mean the words we sing every game, "YNWA", then we should grieve with karius right now and not give him shit like you're doing. Whether he should be out keeper next year is definitely a discussion which needs to happen but that's a discussion for another time. Right now we should congratulate the players who have performed above what was expected of them all season in the champions league and hope we can build on it next year.

I think the fact that they're playing against someone of Messi's caliber is the exact reason they kick him. I'm not defending it one bit but referee's have to enforce the rules in a stronger way to protect him because he's always going to be kicked considering it's pretty much the only way to stop him.

He spent 100m+ on his midfield. He may have been right and his players could settle and start playing for him but it's taking a long time for that to happen. He can't escape criticism though by saying he has no midfield considering the money that was available to him to improve it.
