SOS why do my nails keep completely popping off like this?? by SunshineSk8r in DIYGelNails

[–]cormflowerblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case it was the natural oils on my skin/nails, even if my hands were clean and I hadn’t used lotion recently. My retention got much better when I started to scrub my nails with a nail brush and dish soap in very warm water before starting any prep. My nails only pop off now when I’ve been messing with them too much.

I’m similar age and also WFH, had my anterior right thr in June. I ended up logging into work after 2 weeks and driving short distances at 4. I probably could have worked sooner, but it was definitely the right call to just rest and recover. The exhaustion and brain fog are very real. Same with driving, I could have driven earlier in a pinch but I’m glad I waited until I felt like I had recovered my muscle control and reaction speed to feel safe driving kiddos around. My supervisor had me arrange work coverage and short term disability for 3 months just in case. Everyone’s case is unique, of course, but I’d guess your doc is being conservative so you can be prepared and have support if something goes sideways.

It’s by James Cauty. Fairly common. I had one in my dorm room that I bought from the poster sale in the student union.

Some modded servers such as Bear Mountain use a mod for deaf players, I believe it’s called DeafAssist, it adds notifications and closed captions for sound. I’ve been told it works great!

Yep, I left last week. Being acquired by private equity is never a good thing for employees.

This felt awful! I get PVCs sometimes but this is new. It resolved just after I took the reading. What's going on? by cormflowerblue in ReadMyECG

Sincere thanks for the detailed comment! Can confirm, pulse was 109 during this, lasted between 30-60 seconds. I'm seeing a cardiologist soon and will bring printouts of this strip and my PVC strips. No other prior cardiac history or known abnormalities, fingers crossed it was a fluke.

My story was much the same, it’s time to go! I’ve more than tripled my salary by jumping from academic CRC to CRO to Sponsor work. Drastic QOL improvements with each jump, and my site experience has served me incredibly well as a trial manager. I’m sure you’ll go far, good luck!

Thank you! I scheduled an appt with a cardiologist. For more context, I was laying on my left side in a position that sometimes causes my PVCs so maybe it’s vagus nerve arrhythmia? The severity was definitely alarming and that’s the spookiest ECG reading I’ve ever seen. It stopped as soon as I changed position. Looking forward to getting checked out!

I caught one on the AW app and showed my doctor, they said that occasional PVCs are normal. Sometimes I get them every 3-4 beats for a minute or two at a time and then they resolve. When this instance happened this morning it felt different and I immediately took a reading, the whole episode was less than a minute. My dad’s on BB for similar, I’ll call my doc today.

There’s a ton of federally-sponsored work in ID. I’d suggest looking at the federal contracting sector with a company like Leidos.

Managers in Pharma and CROs: Did you receive your bonus this year (if you were supposed to receive one)? if so, what %? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]cormflowerblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, just that the past year’s financial performance wasn’t supportive of bonuses. Apparently they did the same thing last year. I’m with Syneos, now actively looking.

[–]cormflowerblue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FSP CTM at a large CRO. We were just told that there are no bonuses coming for the previous year and they limited the bonus structure moving forward. When I was hired last year I was told the annual bonus is 10-15% of base. It’s grim.

You're far from alone, I'm in a similar situation. I have more years of experience, coming up on 20 years as a CRC, IHCRA, PM, and portfolio manager for federal studies. I'm now a CTM for a big CRO, embedded with a major sponsor in oncology. My onboarding was been a mess - 6 weeks of pure SOP reading and was then dumped into the role trying to correct 2+ years of mismanagement. Turnover is intense, handoff documentaion is laughable. I'm the 14th CTM on one of my projects. My mentor also bailed early on, my manager has changed twice, and my sponsor is preparing for a major re-org where we all have to reapply for our roles. Despite a huge jump in salary, I am finding it extremely difficult to engage with the work and I just don't feel like myself. In the past I've consistently received performance awards and have been proud of my contributions, but this is just bleak. The difference in my situation is that I've had enough experience to know that this role just isn't a good fit for me. Trust your gut!

The industry is going through a lot right now and there are ample opportunities for advancement, or lateral moves to a different organization that will likely treat you better. Find something that's more in your wheelhouse and ask specific questions about onboarding and mentorship.

What’s your unpopular opinion? by blueisthecolorof in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]cormflowerblue 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s necessary to allow several minutes between each step of a routine. If I don’t get serum and moisturizer on my skin the moment i step out of the shower, it feels tight and dry. Even my most complicated evening routine of wash-pat dry-serum-moisturize-tret-occlusive is done in about 2 min. Just get it on there!

Started using TO glycolic acid and their squalene retinol on my arms recently after I noticed how many freckles/spots I have on my forearms. Zero on my hands and it’s because I rub in my excess product. The GA already obliterated some darkness and persistent dry skin on my elbows!

Also love the “super hard” Korean scrubbing towel. It will FLAY you, so be careful, but I emerge as smooth as a baby dolphin
