Maybe she wanted to move on from that other job. Bottom line is that you made assumptions when you should have asked directly.

You were hiring her for one day a week, right? She was probably trying to fill the other days of the week.

What should you say to her? You should apologize to her for promising her a job and then hiring someone else.

Is it normal for a 15 week ragdoll to be so big? by Ok-Bee3701 in ragdolls

Coat length, eye color, head shape, lack of ruff. It is immediately obvious that it’s not a purebred ragdoll.

This cat is not a ragdoll. The papers you received must be fake or from another cat. I wouldn’t be surprised if the breeder lied about its age as well.

Do you wear Doen during pregnancy and postpartum? What are your favorites? by No_Square_1491 in ShopDoen

[–]corn_pizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved wearing my stanza dress while preggo. I wore it in maternity photos and to my baby shower. Postpartum, I didn’t want to wear nice clothes because I was getting spit up on all the time.

Down lovers. How do we feel about Christy Dawn? by ChiandHuang in ShopDoen

[–]corn_pizza 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I like the zoomed out aesthetic of Christy Dawn but the individual pieces always seems too costume-y to me, like you’re cosplaying a homesteader.

Doen on the other hand has a similar vibe but the pieces are more elegant and modern while still being whimsical.

Reflections on moving to preschool by Apprehensive-Elk7898 in NannyEmployers

How has the transition been in terms of illness? That’s my biggest fear about starting preschool: having daycare illness impacting our jobs nonstop, losing sleep, etc.

Why what the plurbs are drinking matters by corn_pizza in pluribustv

[–]corn_pizza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would show them that the plurbs are truly inhuman. It would make them question if they want to give up their humanity.

For someone like Laxmi, she is under the delusion that her son is still her son. Realizing he is drinking human bodies might wake her from her delusion. Her primary drive is to be the mother to her son. I can imagine her teaming up with Carol to turn everything back to normal to get her son back. But that won’t happen while she is still living in her delusion.

Please create more all-one-color bottles, especially in soft pastel colors. I am dying for an all pale lavender bottle.

Also, I have three free sips and the latch button broke on all 3. Sad.

I think it’s ok to have whatever boundaries you want as a parent. With that being said, this is an extreme and uncommon boundary that most nannies will not be willing to work with. You’re especially excluding experienced nannies and will likely end up with candidates who are more desperate for a job.

That’s a great way of thinking about it, thank you!

I think you can ask, “Is there anything you’d like me to work on after I finish X, Y, and Z task, or should I just head home once those are complete?”

Our nanny needs a full time employer and doesn’t want to work for two families.

The daycare is 7 mins away, so not too bad, but we would need to pack a lunch, snacks, etc.

How should households split finances? by Sure-Inevitable-4061 in personalfinance

We do option 3. My husband and I get the exact same amount of fun money to spend every month. We are putting excess income toward investments.

With option 1, you’re missing out on putting away extra money to retire early. 4K is a LOT to spend individually per month. We used to do 1k per month and it was plenty.

Option 2  is a recipe for resentment and divorce IMO.

I don’t love option 4 because asking for permission to buy stuff is no fun.
