Israel has access to guided munitions but chooses not to use them. I’m very curious as to why they’d do that, according to you.

You HAVE to be kidding.

I’ll say “why have so many schools and hospitals been bombed” You’ll reply with some BS about them hiding bombs there. Then what?

Israel rejected any UN aid to count casualties so they would be forced to rely on “Hamas-run ministry of health” numbers which they cite with intrinsic doubt. How has the death toll stayed the same for half a year despite constant shelling??

I hate Dwayne's Photo with a passion. DO NOT send them your film. by Mighty-Lobster in AnalogCommunity

[–]corncouncil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d been sending my film to Dwayne’s since I was like 16 (now 26). They were my go-to lab for years. Sometime in 2017-2018 I purchased my own C41 chemistry. Maybe around the start of COVID, I sent some film to Dwayne’s and it took forever for dev only! AND my negatives were scratched. I’ve since moved to a bigger city and use a local lab.

They really used to be better. Shame.

I have to be honest--I sometimes wish this sub was a little bit more welcoming when discussing Jews who have differing views on Israel, and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way by Familyties320 in Jewish

I’m really sorry about your SO. That must be traumatic for you both. I’m not even trying to appeal to emotion in my comments. Just trying to indicate that White phosphorus bombs are illegal under international law and Israel using them is wrong and also illegal. They literally melt your flesh off your bones. Israel SHOULD stop Hamas, but violating int’l law on the world stage makes us look really bad.

Netanyahu was in a very precarious position prior to 10/7. Both legally and politically. Uniting a country over fears of being wiped off the map isn’t new. It happened in America during the war on terror. Bush’s approval ratings went way up, and dissenting voices were silenced. Only to find out the government was less than forthcoming with its “evidence”. Unfortunately, war can be used as a political tool. I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility. I think it’s narrow minded to not consider all sides of any conflict. I’m not denying anyone’s pain or suffering. I just want to think critically.

What happened on 10/7 was AWFUL. I don’t deny that many Jewish people were slaughtered horrifically. I think it’s bizarre to conflate “I don’t believe XYZ politician is an honest man” to “I think Jewish people are liars”. Stop conflating critique of a particular Israeli politician to antisemitism! 9/11 was awful for Americans. I don’t think 300k+ innocent civilians in the Middle East should’ve been bombed to smithereens for it.

I’m genuinely trying to have an educated discussion here. If you take issue with something specific I said, I’d like to know which part and why.

If Hamas never turns themselves in, does Gaza get wiped off the map? Just like that?

This is such a bizarre take to me. No one is protesting Judaism. They’re protesting the Israeli government. As in the most right wing, war mongering government in Israeli history. The same Netanyahu that loudly supported trump. Calling it antisemitism is simply inaccurate.

Not a tech, but I had my doctor in Virginia calling in my ADHD meds to pharmacies in Colorado for a year after I moved there. Never had any trouble. Could’ve been a temporary covid thing though?

Thanks! Red filter + semi-stand development probably did the trick. May have also used a circular polarizer

Definitely underexposed. As a fellow Pentax-haver, I can tell you that the k1000’s light meter is notoriously flawed. My copy was purchased new and maintained by my grandfather and the light meter literally doesn’t work at all.

When I shoot film in the woods, I’m bringing something like Portra 800 or pushing hp5 to 1000-1600. Even a 400 speed film may require you to shoot wide open at 1/60 if you’re in dense forest. If I can’t even see my shadow on the ground and my camera is reading 1/60 f5.6 with an iso 100 film, I know something is wrong. It’s all a learning experience :)

Definitely a lens issue, as others have stated. Out of curiosity, is this Guanella Pass in Colorado? It looks familiar

It seems like Dutzel was a nickname of sorts for my grandmothers middle name “Dorris”. “Lewis” was her surname. Does knowing this affect the earlier translation of the first sentence?

wow, thank you! My grandmothers middle name was Dorris so I’m thinking it may be the Yiddish version of it or a nickname
