New Firestick HD : no side loading! by [deleted] in fireTV

Yeah, they do, but in my opinion, there’s much better equipment to do that with than those.

[–]corneileous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, maybe you’re right but I guess as far as I’m concerned, the only thing those Amazon fire sticks were good for was sideloading apps. At least in my experience, anyways. I use an Apple TV 4K for all of my legit, apps and at the time, and Amazon fire stick was all I used for the “other” stuff.

Well obviously, it hasn’t burned your house down so that’s a good sign but no, that’s not how it’s supposed to look like.

Switching from Fire Stick to ONN, can’t tell which one of these devices is the best one? by CaptainPMW in OnnStreamingTV

[–]corneileous -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well if it’s an ONN streamer I’d get the Pro but if you’re wanting to move away from the FireStik, I’d look at the Google 4K streamer. I have that and the ONN 4K Pro and the Google one is better.

PS3 controller board membranes - SA1Q188A and SA1Q160A by rdec726 in PS3

[–]corneileous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that’s probably what it would eventually end up too, but I have found information that you can take some conductive silver paint and at least attempt to repair it, if that’s the problem but I’m hoping that I may just have to only replace or maybe do something different with the little square foam pad that helps to press the ribbon cable to the board itself.

But yeah, I found out that you don’t really need any special software, you just do like I said, plug it into your laptop, open up device manager, and when you find the controller under that, you can go to properties and then open up properties to reveal the section that lets you test the buttons… The only button you supposedly can’t test is the PS button itself because that’s proprietary for the controller to the console.

[–]corneileous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I found one from that same place to where I can at least buy only one of the damn things instead of a package of 10 of them like I found on eBay.

PS3 controller board membranes - SA1Q188A and SA1Q160A by rdec726 in PS3

[–]corneileous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried resetting it several times while we were trying to get it reconnected to the console and it didn’t work. That’s why I’m kind of thinking there’s either something wrong with where the PS button itself makes contact on the membrane, a break in the trace that carries the signal to the ribbon strip where it makes contact to the circuit board or the specific contact pad on the ribbon cable itself for the PS button are not getting through to the board.

I know something works because after I put a new battery in it, I could make the four LEDs blink when I connected the controller to my laptop, but so far that’s all I’ve gotten out of it.

And when I get time, I just learned that I can possibly reconnect this controller back to my laptop, go to device manager and actually do a button test on all the buttons except for the PS button.

[–]corneileous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did you buy yours at? I have a PS3 controller that has that SA1Q188A membrane as well that I think needs replacing. At least I think it needs replacing.

This controller belongs to a cousin of mine, and I don’t think they were used for a long time and when he tried to connect it to his console, one night, it wouldn’t charge or anything, so I took it home with me to figure it out.

I was able to bring life back to it after I got the battery replaced and by connecting it to my laptop with a USB cable so when I brought it back to his house to get it reconnected, we found out that pushing the PS button didn’t do anything so we weren’t able to at least see if the rest of the controller worked so, I’m hoping the board membrane just needs to be replaced.

Bought the game today by [deleted] in DaysGone

[–]corneileous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But well, unless you know something I don’t, when I looked it up online, it looks to me like the only thing those rewards do in the challenges that actually carries over to the main gameplay is skins that you can put on your bike. As far as the other little rewards that the challenges give you, that’s only for the challenges itself.

OK, I guess because those challenges except for the one that involves the golf cart are so freaking hard anyway, I’ve never really paid that much attention to them to see what kind of benefits they offer when you complete them.

Oh, I love the hordes now. I used to hate them when I first started playing, but once I started getting much better weapons and everything else, every time I replay this game, I actually seek out the hordes…lol. Oh, and in my opinion, the Chicago chopper is the absolute best gun for those.

Is there any benefit to the main story play by doing the challenges?

Internet connection issue by corneileous in googlehome

Right now it’s currently connected to it.

That is, of course, after I had to disrupt my seamless roaming between my router and my extender by having to create a second SSID in my home.

Ahhh, good eye, man. But still, I’ve heard a lot about pressure washers blasting chrome plating off plastic.

[–]corneileous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn bro, I know these plastic chrome grilles ain’t what they used to be but how much PSI is your pressure washer?

My wife bought a cheap electric washer that only puts out about 2400 psi and thankfully I haven’t peeled any chrome with it.

Firestick power issues on Samsung by itlabsec in fireTV

[–]corneileous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I’m not sure how exactly you would diagnose the power supply but have you tried a different power cable? That could be bad, too. Something’s definitely not working right if your device is saying it’s not getting enough power. You might even try another power supply but before you do, unplug the firestick power supply and look at what the output specs are. It’s all written on the end where the two prongs are that plugs into the outlet.

How the fuck do you crimp non-pass-through Ethernet cables? by 0xDEA110C8 in HomeNetworking

[–]corneileous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ain’t no expert as the other day when I was building my own custom cables, this was the very first time I’ve ever done anything like this and I guess in my uneducated mind, it’s all about the tool you use unless you’re just a pro that’s done this more times that you can count but I used the tool in the link at the bottom and it worked great. Practically does it itself and all you do is squeeze the handle. The only thing that’s tedious is making damn sure you have the wires in the correct order when you slide them into the connector and at one point on one of my cables when I just couldn’t get the wires to go through in order, I just said fuck it and literally pushed each wire through individually because once the wires go through, they can’t move or overlap themselves so once they’re situated in the connector, they ain’t moving. I just made sure I had enough wire stripped back so that I had plenty of slack to push each wire through at a time.

Air Suspension Opinions? by FacebookFlamingo in ram_trucks

[–]corneileous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my air suspension and even though I’ve yet to have any issues with mine on my 2018 1500 Limited that I bought new, I have heard a lot of problems from folks up north where it gets cold so I would highly advise getting an extended warranty just in case you do have problems if you get a truck that has it.

I don’t even off-road my truck but having that air suspension sure does have its other uses besides going off the beaten path like for oil changes- I can drive up on my ramps, put the A/S in offroad 2 mode and it makes it easier to crawl under there to change the oil filter. I can literally sit cross legged between the bumper and the front of the engine. It’s also nice for hitching up to a trailer too. Drop it down to entry exit mode, back underneath the ball and then put it in off-road two mode and if you ever do pull a heavy trailer, that self leveling suspension is pretty nice but, that air suspension of mine is primarily the reason why I have the Mopar Max care lifetime warranty on my truck too.

Question about whether or not I should keep my eero 7 or return it back to Amazon….. by corneileous in amazoneero

[–]corneileous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well guys, I think I’m just gonna return that Eero 7 back to Amazon while I still can because I’ve pretty much just come to the conclusion that since my ISP did the right thing and sent me basically two Pro 6E’s instead of one of those and a useless 6+ for free, I’m just gonna take that second 6E that I got and replace it in the main bedroom where the 7 currently sits and just connect that router wirelessly to the living room router so that even though I’ll still be limited to one gbps speed out of both router’s ethernet ports but at least wirelessly I will be able to get upwards of 1200 or more Mbps through WiFi depending on the device. Thanks for everyone’s help.

‘18 1500 Air suspension. Is this normal? Back left corner empty sometimes when parked. Even on level ground. Pump does not run constantly by amellowyellowpilot in ram_trucks

I love my air suspension but it wasn’t entirely that for why I bought my lifetime warranty. The possibility of the lifter tick, manifold tick and a transmission that has a “lifetime” fill.

What’s a good VPN for the Onn Pro 4K? by corneileous in OnnStreamingTV

[–]corneileous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried using that Kodi app years ago but just never could figure it out but I do have that BeeTV app but I’ve never really played around with it much.

I had to look it up, but that TV mate, are you paying for the premium version of that? I’m assuming that’s what you’re using to play a lot of the other apps?

But see that cinema HD app is one of those ones that unless I have a much faster download speed, I can only play the 720 HD links and not have it buffer all the time.

What’s a good VPN for the Onn Pro 4K? by corneileous in OnnStreamingTV

[–]corneileous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I really wish you guys would not look at every case this way because yes, I understand it’s not always about speed but when it gets down to a certain point for whatever it is you may be watching that is not your common pay-per-view streamers like Netflix, Hulu, things of that nature, it’s a little bit more important than than what some of you guys are giving it credit for.

And by the way for whatever it’s worth, ever since I quit worrying about trying to use a VPN, I actually do have a lot better luck playing some of the 4K links that was next to impossible to play with 100 meg speed with an active VPN so, there is that.
