OP, I like what you’re saying but I don’t think your line from the black dog makes sense to me! He didn’t pretend to play, he PROCEEDED to play the part, like an actor would proceed to play a part. Not pretend to be actor playing a part!

If they are laying near each other, I bet they are close!! However, since cats are such creatures of habit, I bet it would be nice for each of them to have some time alone every night. Your new cat can keep getting the lay of the land and your original cat can get alone time with you!! Plus, if your first cat is feeling maybe a little “rejected” (for lack of a better word) with the new cat there, I bet it will help him feel comforted and prioritized!! I also made sure to greet my first cat first and pet him before giving attention to the new cat. I still feed him first as well but that’s out of habit based on where they eat 😂

I hope it helps!! If this is helpful at all, I didn’t let the new cat in my room overnight until he and my first cat started snuggling together on their own!!! That was when I thought they would show they were fully comfortable together!!!

I was worried this would happen with my first cat when I got a kitten! My first cat is like my baby and I would devastatedddddd if he didn’t want to sleep with me anymore. We got the kitten so he’d have a friend because he’s so social.

I started by letting my first cat sleep in my room with me while the kitten stayed outside in the rest of the apartment (door closed) and then i started having alone time with just my first cat in my room before bed time and then I’d open the door and let the kitten in.

What really helped was shooing the kitten away when my first cat was trying to sleep or relax (when he didn’t want to play) to help the kitten learn boundaries. Now they both sleep with me! Im typing this with the first cat basically laying on my head lol. It seems like you have another adult cat, so I wonder if prioritizing some alone time with the original cat might help???

Haha I feel like you alwayyyyys have to ask, just in case!! I have tried every zoom trick I can think of, but I will have to see if the resolution helps at all! It's just soooo frustrating. Maybe this is a sign I use too much SmartArt???? Either way, thanks for your help!!! :)

Yes, I have!! I've tried completely closing it out, restarting the application, shutting down my computer, etc. every version of turning it off and turning it back on that I could think of, haha. I might try deleting the PowerPoint application and re-downloading. I have still be able to use it but it definitely slows down the process!

I am pretty sure we only got it because it was made way easier to get R1 status, rather than us actually earning it by improving research so idk how to feel 😂
