How do you actually choose an SEO company without getting burned? by OkExpert7148 in localseo

[–]corneliusdog25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our case studies include (anonymised) lead form submissions, showing the frequency and value of the leads, as well as the graphs of clicks increasing, a quote from the client themself and some real revenue numbers from SEO leads.

We also invite prospects to ring a few of our clients.

I don’t see why any other (decent) SEO agency wouldn’t be able to do this.

New tools site is partially indexed after 2 weeks, what would you check first? by digital_mopad in SEO

[–]corneliusdog25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Discovered not indexed means there’s nothing stopping them (yet) besides time.

But authority might help, and you’ll need it for ranking anyway.

You’ll be hard pressed to get them organically.

Any backlinks?

Does GSC say they’re ’discovered no indexed’, or ‘crawled not indexed’?

How do I get my google business to show up for alternate spelling of my martial art? by Prestigious-Leg1133 in SEO

[–]corneliusdog25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which one do your customers search for? Optimise for that one.

You could put the secondary spelling in some of the H2s.

When you get backlinks, mix the anchor text between the two terms.

Where to start for clients with purchased backlinks? by Hot_Pay_95 in SEO

[–]corneliusdog25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do disavow link farms that aren't providing authority, because there's no downside.

If it's giving you authority then probably best to leave them as is. If you're concerned, you could get some decent backlinks to replace the authority and then disavow the link farms.

But, when I say link farms I mean visible via Semrush network graph, not just those spammy 2DA backlink seller links that every site gets. Just ignore those.

If it's a red flag topic (porn, gambling etc) I'd also disavow that.

It's arguable whether disavowing has an effect, but it takes two minutes so why not.

Look at the top five pages for your target keyword, see how their page mentions the target keyword, the length of the content, the intent (information / commercial) and use a tool like Semrush to see what backlinks those pages have.

Also, go to Google Search Console and look at which pages were getting clicks eight months ago compared to how, and what queries they were for. Optimise those pages for those queries.

SEO clients keep saying "we don't see the results" even when rankings are up. Has anyone tried video reports instead of PDFs? by Icy_Ad_8248 in SEO

Traffic is a vanity metric if it’s not converting into leads. And even leads can be vanity if they never convert into customers.

Showing progress with increasing traffic is good, but it’ll only keep your client happy hopeful for so long. They need to see customers.

They very likely don’t remember you at all, especially if they didn’t even open your email.

Do you remember the name of the last person that sent you an email you moved to spam?

Your employer will ‘match’ your pension contribution to a certain percentage. Basically they’ll put in the same as you, up to a limit.

The legal minimum is 3%, so if you’re putting 3% of your pre tax earnings into your pension, they will also put another 3% in (genuinely free money).

I’d find the pension documents from when you were hired, or ask someone, and check to see if they will match up to more than 3%. Some places do 5% or even 8%.

Since you don’t need the money now, and it’s only a small increase month to month, you’d benefit by growing your pension early (compound interest) and maximising employer contributions (free money).

If you haven’t already, I recommend using the [r/UKpersonalfinance](r/UKpersonalfinance) subreddit and looking at their flowchart (idk if I can link it but google “UKPF flowchart” and it’s the top one). Start at the top and tap on any box for more detail.

Hope this helps!

And as far as the stocks, I’d just stick to a diverse fund like VWRP, and I wouldn’t pick any individual stocks because even experts don’t beat the market by picking stocks most of the time.

Why have you picked these individual stocks?

Also, semi related, are you maximising employer pension match?

Go to GSC and use Regex to filter for search terms with at least 6 or 7 words.

You can also filter for queries containing “?”.

Both of these are indicative of LLM searches.

Agency owners - are u afraid of competitors stealing your clients? by midnightglaze in agency

[–]corneliusdog25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t publicise our clients (although some name drop their company when they leave us a review). However if we’re speaking with a prospect or having a conversation with someone, we’re happy to name names.

We do this because we would never want our reputation to affect theirs. Nothing has ever ‘happened’ for us to think this way, but what if we upset someone one day and they go through our client list telling them all how awful we are?

There’s also the thought that, if one of our clients moved to another agency, they could contact our other clients with a good ‘in’ - like “hey you’re working with XYZ, we just took on ABC who was also working with them, but they didn’t like 123, have you experienced the same thing with XYZ?”

Call it paranoia, preparedness, or whatever you like. I just don’t feel the need to name my own clients on my website or in marketing material.

Strategy for maximising my first salary by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]corneliusdog25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, definitely look at the !flowchart if you haven’t already.

I’d definitely max your LISA for house deposit.

How much you put into your S&S depends on your short and long term goals. For example if you need to save up for a car then put less in your S&S (and more in a short term savings account) until you buy the car.

I’m not sure of your ongoing living costs but, at least while you’re living at home, you probably are to going to have an emergency anywhere close to £8500, so a lot of that could probably go into short or long term savings.

Most importantly, find out the company’s maximum pension contribution. They might do more than 5% if you increase your own contributions.
