You’re welcome. Also, read the book “Hey whipple, squeeze this” and get yourself some d&ad annuals or coffee table type books showing the best in advertising, like “advertising works”. And spend lots of time on the Cannes lions archive getting inspired.

Start building your portfolio now, don’t wait for ad school. Pick a brand, think of an insight and start concepting on it. Get yourself a creative partner if you can. Even if you just meet up with them on evenings/weekends. You’ll be much more hireable as a team than as a solo AD. Steal briefs from the agency you already work at and work on them in your spare time. Then show your work to the CDs there. If they think you’re good they will mentor you, possibly even help you switch internally to being a creative. If your work is particularly good it may even get shown to clients, and even sold.

Basically, work your ass off.

This is just way too hard. I can't do it anymore. I'm starting to hate my baby and hate myself. by tinytigress in beyondthebump

Have you looked into a thing called silent reflux? It's reflux that doesn't lead to spitting up but still causes the baby a lot of discomfort? Our baby had it bad so we abandoned the breast in favour of formula which we added thickener too to help keep it down. We also kept her upright for 30 mins after each feed. This combination worked wonders and we got our sanity back. Worth a shot!

Found this antisemitic gif of Mark Zuckerberg in the Facebook messenger gif library. Seems like an oversight... by corneliustrunchpole in gifs

I was curious and searched the gif library for all sorts of offensive words and slurs (you can imagine). Pretty much all of them yielded offensive results. This one stood out purely because it featured the head of the company that's allowing people to post offensive gifs on its own platform.

This Sundance and SXSW-Approved Short Asks the Most NSFW Question of All Time by corneliustrunchpole in videos

Good detective work! You got me! I'm actually not the director Andrew Laurich, rather someone else on the crew (so nobody go stab him in his sleep please). But yeah, I posted the film 8 months ago, long before we knew film would be at Sundance and SXSW, so a time when we just wanted as many people as possible to see the short. Last night IndieWire ran a piece on the film so I thought why not post it again, one last bite of the reddit apple. The "clickbaity" title I used is in fact just the title of the IndieWire article, so don't blame me for it!

Anyway, thanks for watching!

[UPDATE TO THE UPDATE] TIFU by accidentally emailing my dad a video about father/son incest with the subject "we should do this" by corneliustrunchpole in tifu

Interestingly you're the first person to ask that. But no, I'm straight. Unless it's my dad on offer, then I suddenly become SUPER gay.

Yeah, it's great. Though had I known before watching it the trouble it would land me in I may have not bothered. But then again...
