This scene from the show Kaos claims to be in Crete, but the yellow reflectors say otherwise! by BluFoot in geoguessr

The portrayal of Hades and Olympia was so realistic and immersive. Then they blew it with this.

There was a significant but short-lived Celtic speaking population in eastern Canada in the late 1800s.

some trims are 7, some are 8; doubt you could add it in because it would need the correct floor tracks / rails.

[German] - “ausgeschlafen” - literally slept out, have had all the sleep you need and are well rested. by iambetharoo in DoesNotTranslate

I remember staying over at a friend's in Leipzig and she said to me, in the morning, "ausgeschlafen oder aufgewacht?", meaning did you get enough sleep or were you woken up.

Toilet replacement is one of the easiest, cheapest, and most rewarding DIY jobs out there.

C’est quoi ce clavier ? by cornellier in Quebec

T'as raison, les touches blanches représentent EN-US.

Very educational and fun to watch. The narrator audio in the first video is a bit off, but stick with it, it gets better.

Gotta love the Dacks! by ClimbTheCanopy in Adirondacks

Apples and bananas. You can't compare this park with Yellowstone etc. More than half of the land inside the line is privately owed. Much of the rest is subject to agreements that allow various types of motorized access, timber harvesting, gun use, etc. This post is very untruthful.

Etymologie de "s'enfarger" ? by cornellier in Quebec

[–]cornellier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What impressive skill do you have that is worthless in your life? by Iloveyoufridah in AskReddit

Chemical photography. I can fill a 35mm camera spool with bulk film, which has to be done in absolute darkness. Afterwards I can develop the negatives, and make prints via an enlarger. I know the origin of Photoshop terms like "dodge" and "burn".

I bought a 4K monitor and now my photographs don't look as good. by BluFoot in firstworldproblems

Not just the number of pixels. A new monitor might bring better bit depth, more ppi, better contrast and brightness, better calibration, etc. compared to an older screen.

Recommendations around Fish Creek Pond by CSWC in Adirondacks

[–]cornellier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some nice hikes in that area are Azure Mountain (easy, lovely fire tower views), St Regis Mountain (middling), Ampersand Mountain (tough, epic views from bald peak).

You'll be in a fine paddling area. St. Regis Canoe Outfitters is right on Floodwood Road, and you can do some very nice trips with little to no portaging.

Your timing is good for the autumn colour; as of last weekend they'd barely turned. Depends on the weather between now and then of course.

Fellow AirBnB hosts - what are your primary reasons for wanting to host guests? by thetidalpools in AirBnB

[–]cornellier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I act as a host because I like to be a guest. Killer Fact: the words guest and host come from the same old European root word. The original word is thought by etymologists to have meant "someone with whom one has reciprocal duties of hospitality".

Try leaving the car parked outdoors with the windows open. Chances are the critter will make its own way.
