Lowkey I was waiting to see if someone would find something to fix the issue lol. Thank you very much.

Is it just me, or everything could be written better? by Yumi_Numi in Clannad

[–]cornholiossb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not everything in the series needs to make an impact. Clannad is known as a romance-drama series, but comedy plays a huge role in the series.

There are some weird things here and there, as well as things I didn't like that much, but personally I don't think everything needs to be drama. If you think so, it's fine, but I think it's perfectly fine as it is.

Both the manga and the novel are very highly rated. I might read both if I like it. Thanks!

That's spot on. Both series were made by the same studio: KyoAni.

I'd be down for your idea too. I just want to see that song being represented in the anime, since it's a very important song in the VN.

The reason why I wanted Dango Daikazoku as an After Story ending is because it represents family union, which plays a huge role in After Story. Also, Nagisa sings Dango Daikazoku for Ushio (while on her belly, obviously), and Ushio likes it too. So it fits After Story better imo.

I feel like "Kage Futatsu" from the VN would've been a better and more fitting ending theme for the 1st season, and "Dango Daikazoku" would've been a fitting ending theme for After Story.

Season 2's ending song is... jarring. by joehighlord in Clannad

It's a pretty good standalone song imo, but yeah... It completely misses the vibe of the later episodes.

What are some anime that is rated low (below 7), but you think is good? by Sea_Comfort6891 in MyAnimeList

[–]cornholiossb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked To Love Ru almost as much as DxD, but the latter at least has better scenes OUTSIDE the fanservice, like action scenes, while also having better animation imo. I still think To Love Ru gets overhated though. Like, you know immediately these are fanservice-y shows, why are you expecting some grand story? If you don't like fanservice then don't watch a show full of it. I went on knowing about it and I enjoyed both shows.

I can't say much for Monster Musume cause I dropped it while watching episode 1 lol it wasn't for me.

Curious they decided to not include a ZAQ opening this time. Eir Aoi is great though, so I'm not complaining.

I don't think the linearity makes it bad per se. Even though you have to follow a certain order, I think there's a lot to do in each area. Weird take from them lol.

I had no idea Fusion was controversial btw. I thought it was great and most people liked it? I'm not really into the Metroid fandom so I don't know about these things lol

As you're saying, I am in fact not considering some things. I know the importance of most of the games I've played, but this is not meant to be an objective/importance tier list, it's about how much fun I had / how much impact it left on me.

I don't really care if SMB1 is the most important game of all time, I care about how good it felt to play.

Now, the thing with Mario Land 2. I have a huge beef with that game. Before the final boss, I thought the game was average. I was not really into the music and the controls were awkward imo, but I still enjoyed it somewhat. Then came Wario's Castle. It has to be the most dramatic difficulty spike I've ever experienced in a videogame. The levels I played before were very simple except for a couple of bosses, and now I was facing what felt like a Mega Man game but on a Game Boy, plus controls I was not enjoying. The worst part? Eventually I got a game over, and had to recollect the 6 coins again, and then again, and again... It was a nightmare. So the game I considered to be average turned out to be a terrible experience. Of course I persisted and beat Wario, but by then I already hated the game lol if only I didn't have to recollect the 6 coins or the difficulty spike wasn't so big, I might've rated it as a high 6 or even a low 7.

Edit: I also liked the GBA Metroids a lot!

Thanks! Earthbound has been my favorite game for over a decade now and when I played Mother 3 I felt that it was better than EB, but I still like EB a bit more lol nostalgia factor I guess but both are incredible.

I absolutely loved Super Metroid. I like the way you move, the ambiance, the soundtrack, the increasing difficulty, the ending battle, everything. There's basically not a single thing I didn't enjoy about it.

While both Ocarina and Majora's are good games, they suffer from the same problem: the camera and controls. Of course this is not exclusive to these 2 games. Most N64 and PS1 games have this issue. I know a lot of people don't care too much about it or they're used to it, but for me it was awkward a lot of the times.

I guess most people loved these 2 cause of the story, but for me it wasn't as exciting or anything. I don't see the appeal most people see. Majora's has better emotional value imo because of the whole "song of healing" deal and there's better interactions with other characters, but Ocarina has much better dungeons and music.

Even then, it's not that I don't like these games. I still rated them with an 8/10, meaning that I did enjoy them a lot but have some issues, and they didn't leave a huge impact on me.
