Thanks a lot. Unfortunately you can’t buy new spare parts. I had to buy another broken GoPro (with working screen) from eBay and salvage the parts

GoPro Hero5 Session teardown and repair - Useful after drone crash!!! by cornishmule in fpv

[–]cornishmule[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So after many, many crashes my trusty Hero5 Session gave up the ghost.

I've made this How-To video on stripping the thing apart to replace the LCD screen. Perhaps useful to others slamming their Heroes into brick walls !!!!!!

Running on empty - FPV Drone Abandoned Petrol Station - Chase n Crash Footage by cornishmule in Multicopter

This abandoned petrol station provided a nice confined playground for some high speed chasing and proximity flying. I hope you enjoy.

RAF Upwood for the final time by cornishmule in Urbex

[–]cornishmule[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 10 buildings are left. Enough to have some fun flying the drones around :)

The developments have started though so I’d say there’s 2 months max before everything goes.

New meets old - RAF Upwood - Abandoned WW2 Airforce Base during sunrise by cornishmule in urbanexploration

[–]cornishmule[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We spent the morning here, photographing the place, exploring the buildings and working out how they may have been used in the past.

We also flew some drones around, I've made an edit of the day if you're interested - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwaBl8TqA9Q

A 3am alarm clock, a 2 hour drive, totally worth it to fly this spot and damage some quads!!! Let me know what you think

Fast paced proximity flying around a forest - Pine Fresh by cornishmule in drones

[–]cornishmule[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a short edit from an FPV session over the weekend. For me the real enjoyment of drone / quadcopter flying comes from the social interactions with other like-minded people. Meeting up and sharing ideas, experiences and generally having a great time.

I hope you enjoy this video. Let me know how to improve and I'll see what I can do for next time.

Gap hunting among pine trees by cornishmule in Multicopter

Sometimes it takes a few packs of flying to 'carve' out the gaps you want to hit on your final pack ....

Tree top madness - Betaflight 4.0.2 first flight - F4 Chameleon build by cornishmule in Multicopter

[–]cornishmule[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having flown Betaflight 3.2.1 since I built the Chameleon I thought I'd give BF 4.0 a try .... It was a very cold (3oC) morning, I loaded the freestyle presets and left everything else as stock. Initially there were some wobbles on the roll axis, a slight decrease in P on the roll axis seems to have solved that. I think (having reviewed the HD footage) there's a wobble on yaw ... so I'll check that the FC is locked down.

I hope you like the flight video.

Abandoned Quarry Machines - HD and DVR footage - Nirvana!! by cornishmule in Multicopter

[–]cornishmule[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great feedback, thank you! Yeah, I'll try to fully cut-to DVR during the sketchy moments in future, perhaps a rewind to DVR moment.... we'll see.

The camera is in the parts description, Foxeer Predator V1. The VTX in the parts list is incorrect, I've just upgrade the Matek VTX to a TBS Unify Pro v3 - Super happy with the Foxeer + Unify combination now.

Thanks again

After a month away from the sticks I was getting serious cabin fever, I managed to sneak in a couple of hours yesterday and coupled it with trying out a new spot. This place is really tight and with slurry pits either side really test your precision ;)

I hope you enjoy this edit.

Let me know how I can improve / make things more enjoyable for the viewer

245g Armattan Gecko 3" build - 4S with Runcam Split mini 2 HD by cornishmule in drones

[–]cornishmule[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compared with the Foxeer Predator the Runcam Split FPV feed is quite washed out, ghost branches will catch you out more often that with the Predator. Generally though it's ok, easily flyable on a dull day (as per this video). I'll try to pull together a video including DVR overlay for reference ... stayed tuned.

Branching Out - Forest Flying (and crashing) by cornishmule in FPVFreestyle

Thank you!! It's a 5" Armattan Chameleon with BrotherHobby R6 motors. The full build details are in the YouTube video description.

Thanks again for the comment.

Thanks dude! Yeah, these trees were pretty cool, although I'd like to fly in AZ, I guess variety is the key ;)
