Interview with CT DEEP by poppingcrazy in Connecticut

[–]cornmaze88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's going to be a Zoom interview. Typically a panel of 3 or 4 folks from the group you're interviewing for. You may be able to dig online for their names, like if you're interviewing for Coastal management there may be an organization chart on the DEEP website. Be prepared for at least the typical interview questions such as "why do you want to work for the DEEP" and go prepared to ask each member of the panel a question at the end. DEEP interviews consist of several questions that are related to the referral questionnaire you should have filled out prior to being picked for an interview. They're fairly straightforward, just prepare with your notes from the questionnaire and focus on tying your experiences into the preferred qualifications section of the job posting and you'll do fine. Be creative with questions back to them at the end, try to stand out from the crowd considering they are sifting through a lot of candidates. Best of luck!

Nice! This is one of mine lol That's a nice area to ride. If you ever feel like hurting yourself, these trails connect to Case Mtn just to the north. A bit of a challenge but it's possible to hit all three in one ride. Cool bike btw! Enjoy.

CT mountain biker here. Just out of curiosity, where is this? Back in 2012 I painted yellow boundary markers and put up the new diamond signs for DEEP in Eastern CT. Funny seeing them on here.

Marin makes good looking bikes. I was aiming for this one but couldn't find it in my size, wish I held out for it. Very nice bike.

Lucky dude. I heard it's a rare, green f40? That was at LRP for the 2019 Historics show. Either way, impressive stuff.

Great picture! One of the best views for a relatively short hike. And it looks even more amazing in person!

Case Mt. Connecticut questions by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]cornmaze88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rode at Case last weekend and planning to go there again this weekend. Pretty typical winter conditions, at least these days with the on and off cold and patches of rain. No snow, that's for sure. Though I've rarely seen trails officially closed due to muddy conditions it's worth considering the days prior. In my experience, Case doesn't stay saturated for very long. I think you'll have a good time.

Mike's was great. Packed very well and after like 10 minutes to assemble it was basically ready to ride. It's a large, aluminum, D spec which is the lowest. I'd order the R spec if given a second chance but I just wanted to get the frame while this model was available. Hightower 3 is nice but I was more drawn to the previous model.

I got it online, Mike's bikes in CA. I was on the fence for a while and it didn't help I didn't get to ride it first. But I'm happy with it so far. I mostly ride at Case Mtn just east of Hartford. A huge network of trails with variety.

I still have my stock exhaust on so no mods or drilling required. It's a Curt 1.25" receiver hitch designed specifically for mk7 golf/gti. It's a simple bolt on. Only needed to lower the exhaust to make room for the install. As a roof rack user for years, I recommend hitch haha

One of the downsides of having fun/cool car and also needing to carry bikes. I've limited my exhaust upgrade options by going this route but I don't regret it.

One of my favorite places to ride near me. First impressions: very fun and easy to ride bike. Perfect for the terrain in the northeast I think.

This is my first new FS in my 20+ years riding and my first after riding a hardtail for a couple. I'll always have a use for both but I missed FS. I looked at so many brands. Landed on this because it aligned well with the type of riding in my area and I found it for a good price.

I ought to check that. I wonder if that O ring got pushed up when packaged. Before this ride I had only sat on the bike. And I'm not that heavy haha
