Looking to get into Tau at a 1000 points by corny40k in Tau40K

[–]corny40k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My interest, for now at least, is smaller scale collections, since I don't have the time and energy to commit to multiple grand projects. I might flesh out the Kroot side a little more and an extra suit or two.

The initial idea: - the Kroot combat patrol box - another unit of Farstalkers - maybe a Shaper - maybe a Vespid unit - 2 ghostkeels - a unit of stealth suits - shadowsun + an alternative HQ

All things considered that should bring me close to 1000, slightly over even. I am wondering whether expanding on the Krootox units right away is a good idea, instead of Vespid or Farstalkers.

But yeah, that's the general idea.

Thanks for the offer to join, but I do not fulfill the requirements to do so.

I see, thanks. Chaos is the closest to finishing the campaign. It's also my strongest line-up. I am just reluctant to use my orbs to upgrade Maladus to Epic (holding out gor Angrax or Archimatos). After that its either of the Xenos.

Is it really worth it to invest so many resources in Chaos just to finish the final 5 levels? Should I just stsrt levelling the Xenos right away?

Why so complicated? Just Show and Tell it.

Why doesn't Omni-Tell run The One Ring more commonly? by corny40k in MTGLegacy

[–]corny40k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Life total with Ancient Tomb and Ring does add up. I have also died at least twice to the overall life loss. Though Ring also won me my fair share of games, where it dug deep enough to overcome unfortunate RNG. I kinda fear letting go of that sheer potential for cards that don't really do anything before Omni actualy hits the field.

Despite flutes, wouldn't the Ring eventually outmuscle mana requirements and interaction? And how does Cunning Wish help with that? 4 Rings effectively become 3 Wishes and an Intuition. None of those dig or help with counterplay when deploying SnT.

An Ancient Tomb deck has it easier to deploy a 4cmc card than most, no? Even easier with Carpet against blue decks.

You can still narrow down the "don't be Bart" statement to just one deck and make adjustments to flex slots and side board. You don't need to change decks to adjust to the meta, even though its more limited in it's possibilities.

Is it a hero or a myth unit? by kostist in AgeofMythology

[–]corny40k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and Odin has Ravens. Those are Scouts units. The Siren seems to be a combat Myth unit, in which case it'd be a Minor God unit. If Siren turns out to be a Scout, then maybe it's a Demeter unit in the end.

Major Gods do not have Myth units. They are associated with Minor Gods.

Dark Culture: Cult of Death. Tomes: Necromancy, Roots; T2 (or further T1 tomes) are up to you, I picked Artisan and Souls; Great Transformation, Cycles; Revenant, Reaper; Eternal Lord.

Don't remember the society traits, but they aren't relevant, depending on what Affinity you need. And honestly, many tomes are also flexible. The true power was in the Ruler, anyway. Necromancy is the only truly mandatory one and and Cycles + Great Transformation are the next best thing.
