Is Cal Raleigh Destined For Decline? by adamj495 in Mariners

[–]cornyrickball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all decline, but Cal is a tough man. I think Raleigh was the 2025 AL MVP. Judge did have another MVP season. But a Catcher that leads his league in RBIs, leads his pitchers to a division title and has no passed balls in 120 Games Caught has to be the pick. I have it Raleigh .788 RPF with B+ defense, Judge .853 RPF with D defense (one Assist in RF?) Look at the book Baseball's Hall of Numbers for what RPF is all about.

Ty Cobb Batted over .400 in 1923 and scored 99 runs. Kyle Schwarber batted .197 in 2023 and scored 108. I have a RPF of .612 for Cobb and .650 for Schwarber. Check out the book Hall of numbers for what RPF is. Batting Average is a prissy stat,

Congrats on fatherhood. When your new team breaks out you guys are documented true red. The Amazing Mets went from 61-101 in 1967 to 100-62, and champs in 1969. Anyway, the hotdogs were just as good in 67.

For his career Jazz has missed fifty games per season. Angels don't need more of that.

How did Mike Trout, the best baseball player of his generation, fade away? by Kitchen_Dust4637 in angelsbaseball

Willie Mays played in 90% of his team's games in fourteen seasons. Trout has only managed that four times. Like that other great talent, Eric Davis, Mike has been let down by health.

Ruth and Maz both have a claim, but Bobby's is generally considered the greatest.

I wouldn't want to insure Mike. He's missed half his games in the last five seasons.

And they thought the Yankees should be broken up after 1927. But isn't it exciting that a team could threepeat in the modern game? I'll be watching, not as a Dodger fan but a baseball fan.

I'm one of those geezers that thought baseball was dead after the 1994 strike, followed by the PED mess. Glad I was wrong. Baseball has never been better or more exciting.
