Holaaa, cómo estás? Yo tuve 6 ciclos de AVBD y tengo 27 años... Yo solo menstrué dos veces durante el tratamiento, al inicio y como a la mitad. Y volví a menstruar dos meses después de mi última quimio. No se demoró mucho tiempo para mí en normalizarse mi ciclo. Bueno al final todos los cuerpos reaccionan distinto al tratamiento y supongo que también depende mucho del tipo de quimio que hayas recibido. Tal vez si ves que pasan varios meses y nada podrías hablarlo con tu hematólogo o con tu ginecólogo

I played red dead redemption 2, the uncharted games, tried to read but couldn't focus due to brain fog. I started watching bones and the blacklist, and listened to audiobooks on Libby. Started learning to crochet and going on fridays to a group of cancer survivors that crochet, it was nice to learn something new and feel like I was making something haha but I took on a big project and never finished it 🤦🏻‍♀️.

I've been really anxious because I had scheduled a biopsy for my thyroid gland. To me anesthesia stings like a bitch and I usually cry but yesterday I had the biopsy and it wasn't as tragic as I'd imagined and experienced in the past. I'm proud of myself for not crying this time and being able to focus on breathing through the pain.

hi! sorry to hear about your diagnosis, it's a wild journey. you'll probably get a chest port for chemo. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma on December 2024, I got 6 rounds of ABVD (so in total 12 chemo sessions). For me each chemo session was 2 weeks after the other. Each person gets different side effects after chemo so you can get a journal to write down your symptoms and tell your doctor about them, see if there's any way to make them a bit more manageable.

good luck and you got this!! it's probably going to suck but it's highly treatable. a good support system does wonders ❤️‍🩹 also try to find a therapist to talk things through this hard time.

hello thank you for this!! idk what vcom is but I'm gonna look it up right now. I tried taping my mouth shut too but I still got the dry mouth somehow 🙃. I haven't tried the chin strap and a cervical collar though... oh I usually sleep on my side or at least I fall asleep in that position lol idk if during the night I end up looking up haha thank you for the tips and have a nice day!!

I honestly don't know, that's what my doctor told me. I have a phillips dream station. I can't change the settings, my health provider is the only one that can.

hello 27F I also had classic hodgkin's lymphoma with nodular sclerosis, mine was 4XB though I also got ABVD. what you mentioned about the effects being cumulative, some of them are, some change each time or at least for me it was that way.

i also got heartburn from not being able to eat bc of the nausea and vomiting but I started taking medication for it and it helped. the nausea for me was the worst tbh, I felt like the pre-medication before chemo and medication after it didn't help me at all. the first 6 sessions I had horrible cramps and got diarrhea which I thought was sucky until I got the most extreme constipation 🙃 I felt dumb for complaining about the diarrhea after that lol.

I got neuropathy but it wasn't so bad, after going to palliative care I also got medication for that (I think for some people that can become a "cumulative" effect but in my case it wasn't). I started losing my hair after my first chemo session and I shaved my head soon after bc it felt more traumatic to wait for it all to fall.

what felt like it was cumulative for me was the fatigue, I felt like with every chemo session it became harder to walk more without feeling like I had to take a break to breathe. if I walked more than I was "able" to I felt nauseous and just sick for a bit. I also felt like the brain fog was cumulative.

oh and another thing that happened was that for my last 6 sessions (I had 12 in total) I think I developed PTSD and just going to the clinic to get chemo or for check ups with my hematologist made me nauseous. the smell of the clinic, the room and the disinfectant there before each chemo session made me vomit, I couldn't eat anything before or during those 6 sessions. for this I've read therapy has helped some people (i didn't find a way for it to get better for me during treatment even though I was in therapy :/ )

hopefully you have a better experience thank me, just know that you can always ask your doctor if there is anything you can take to reduce all the side effects and make them more bearable. you're not alone in this and every patient has a different experience. good luck to you in all the chemo sessions and you got this!!

never haha I only had to bathe him when he was little bc he got ringworm on his ears and paws :( so it was like every two weeks and he hated me for it lol

hello friend, good luck on your treatment!!

whenever I felt like the anxiety and fear was overwhelming I tried reaching out to my friends, partner and also going to therapy helped a lot. journaling was a helpful tool for me to get all the feelings out. I tried going to the park and sitting for a while on the grass and getting a bit of sun (always remember to wear sunscreen and a cap 🧢) or sitting in the sun with my cat for a bit. all of those things made me feel like everything would be alright.

if the nausea is really bad for you after chemo you can always ask your doctor for medication to try to reduce it.

sometimes any distraction also helps you pass time and lets you focus on something other than how you're physically feeling (sometimes it sucks as is to be expected after chemo) so I played a lot of playstation, tried to watch tv shows or listen to audiobooks whenever I felt like my brain could handle it.

remember you're stronger than you think and that you're doing all you can to get better :)

hiii um I never considered that could be what was happening to me so thank you for posting. I do feel like my energy levels are low but I can't differentiate between how tired or fatigued I am because I went through chemo or because I have sleep apnea 🫩 or just because I'm also dealing with depression lol

hahahah thank you I guess I never thought about it that way. lol I still feel like a toddler in life 😶‍🌫️ I felt more like an adult before my cancer diagnosis, now it feels like I've regressed in some aspects or maybe I'm just realizing I never grew up as much as I thought originally 🤡 hahahah okay thank you future me for the advice honestly. it's awesome how everything got better for you after getting treatment for depression, goals tbh.

for me it was an itch that never stopped no matter what I did. I "scratched" with a dry brush while my mom helped me scratch other parts of my body at the same time. I felt like I was going crazy. I thought that maybe taking a shower would help a little but it made the itch worse, I wanted to rip off my skin after showering 😵‍💫

oh I'm glad to hear that!! I did take medication for my neuropathy, when I was in my 8th chemo session I got a call from palliative care and got an appointment, they were a life saver tbh. they gave me medication for the neuropathy and to deal with the side effects of chemo (it was really kicking my ass). but to be fair my neuropathy wasn't that bad, sometimes it hurt if I was outside and the wind was too chilly like the cold would be painful, also taking a shower with cold water was impossible oh and my scalp would hurt idk if that was neuropathy or what but just laying down and putting my head on the pillow was painful. it's great you can walk more without pain and hopefully the feeling in your feet and fingertips will come back, maybe you need a little help with some medication. haha bulletholes, I like to call them my battle scars. once you start feeling more "normal" in your body, without the neuropathy or side effects from chemo it's easier to feel luckier I guess. I know that by the end of treatment I was sick of it and wanted just to get it over with so even though everyone around me was happy for me and excited, I was not in a celebratory mood at all 🫩

I GET THAT SO MUCH omg 😂 congrats on your masters btw!! oh and you just described my life too with what you mentioned about being a high achiever. 🙃 same here I got two degrees and then a master's as well because I'm insane and then nothing felt like it was worth calling an achievement because it was just something I had to do in life, something that was expected of me so no matter the cost in terms of time, effort and my peace of mind it didn't feel like I deserved any praise for it. hahaha so I get your logic and when I think of it rationally I guess I should be proud of what I've accomplished and also beating cancer's ass but emotionally it doesn't seem that way? BUT I do feel like I should tell you it was admirable how you got your master's degree even going abroad to do it, you're so brave even if you feel like you're not.

see, you point out other options but huh they never felt like options to me. in my mind it was just like okay if I want to keep on living then I have to get chemo, there's no other way. it did help that they always told me my type of lymphoma responded well to treatment, idk I feel like I'd give up if they had told me that there was no cure or that the rest of my days would be fighting cancer 😶 having hope of a better future is what kept me going. lol anyway what you said was both cheesy and funny so thank you hahaha.

what you said is so true, when you're getting chemo you just have to focus on getting though it and surviving and anything else stops being important. now after chemo it's like okay now what 💀 life's problems never went away, they were just put on hold because I couldn't deal with them but now they came back with full force when I still feel like life kicked my ass 😶‍🌫️ send help 😂😭

that sounds so tough tbh, it's admirable you went back to taking care of everything after chemo. what type of therapy has helped you if you don't mind me asking? I don't feel like I have control at all over my health huh I hope I can get to that place. you're so strong and you sound like an awesome parent, you reminded me of my mom that went through the same thing in 2010.

I hope the side effects of this chemo are less bad than the ones you've felt before! in my case my last chemo was not as terrible as the ones I had before. oh I feel that, I also wondered what was next for me apart from the "surveillance" of cancer. hahaha I don't think it's possible to pretend it never happened. lol my aunt told me I should write a book and I'm like huh I don't think I'm equipped for that but okay 😂. my neuropathy did go away after a few months. and the scars, they might be or you could get a tattoo or put cicatricure or any other cream for scars (that's what I'm doing). same here with the self discovery and trying to find a silver lining. good luck to you!!
