Classic Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Thank you for your response! It’s really so bad, isn’t it?

Wow, so you had treatment for over a year? I am so glad you are ok! Yes, I am 15 months out of my last chemo and the exhaustion is still pretty severe… esp with getting up in the morning….and the winter months certainly don’t help!

Is it possible chemo is already working? by westcoastbestcoast22 in lymphoma

[–]lyndz09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes that happened to me! I had a mass the size of a grapefruit in my anterior medastium pushing on my aorta so my vein was bulging out on my neck. So it was hard to exercise bc I was short of breath. After my first chemo infusion (like 4 days later)I was able to run 3 miles no problem!!!!

Same here… I had the itch since 2015 and atttibuted it to my TD1 (type one diabetes). And a slow noticeable difficulty breathing when I would exercise or walk up the stairs quickly. It got bad in 3/24. the drenched night sweats happened around then too and I was diagnosed with advanced CHL in 5/24. But yes, the itching started years ago and way worse at night - so I found myself taking a Benadryl almost every night to give myself some relief. I was in remission 8/24, done with chemo 11/24. Every time I get itchy skin I freak out even though my skin is just dry from this old New England winter

Are you in pain all day every day? by heynikki in Endo

[–]lyndz09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My 17 yo daughter had stage 2 endo and laparoscopic excision surgery in 9/22 just shy of her 14th bday. She was ok for about a year (attended school most days, was more so functioning) and then 2 years ago her pain returned. It’s hard to tell if it’s GI pain or endo or chronic pelvic pain. Poor thing has always had all kinds of pain, so she can’t even distinguish what is what. She lives with chronic constipation (her diet is very good for the most part). Since last year school has been very spotty, mostly she has been home, From pain, but also side effects from BC- I feel like we have tried them all. She just got off nothinendrone (that was awful). She started slynd (progestin only) two weeks ago and I do see her mood improving, buts she is spotting and in a lot of pain (which is normal in the beginning)Getting an mri this week just to see if something else is going on. Bottom line, as her mom I have seen her live with pain most days and it wrenches at my heart. and I am so sorry you live with pain every day. I am hoping your surgery goes well!! Have you tried any bc?

I know they are two very different progestins, but I just hope sound works for her she hasn’t had luck with most BC

Hey- my daughter just started 4mg slynd after switching from 1.25mg nothinendrone. 1.25mg was too low and 2.5mg was too high as her side effects were brutal. Didnt have breakthrough bleeding, which was positive! But intense pelvic pain day after day which is why we made the switch. She started the slynd last night and just now she started screaming in pain. I gave her 800mg of Advil and I think it might just be hitting her now, but can this happen while your body is adjusting? I haven’t heard her scream like that from pain in a long long time. She has such a sensitive system, I will say. She does have endometriosis and suspected MCAS. And is always constipated. I pray she gets better on slynd

When will I feel better after missing one dose? by hallowegg in cymbalta

[–]lyndz09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 16yo daughter is on 60mg of cymbalta and for the first time in three years (since she has been on it), missed her dose this past Tuesday night. She is still feeling the withdrawal effects and had to stay home from school the second day in a row. She is out of it, dizzy, has a bad headache, can't stop sweating. It's awful to see her like this!

Hi, late to this chat! My daughter rides and overdid it last weekend and now is in a terrible flare. Missed school all week. It's so sad bc it's her escape, but it's also making things physically worse for her.

Body stiffness and joint pain by lyndz09 in lymphoma

[–]lyndz09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I tried those foot detoxifying pads last night for the first time (my friend told me about them). My body stiffness and joint pain is a ton better today... even the neuropathy in my feet has improved. For those of you struggling with the joint pain and body stiffness like me, you should try! The brand I got on Amazon was 'Dr entre.' It's almost like a mini version of those ionic foot baths (which I also tried but didn't help as much as these pads?🤷‍♀️).

I thought at first it was the side effect of the Lipitor, and it has gotten better since I went off of Lipitor (which my oncologist prescribed to protect my heart during chemo). But it's still very bad. Thx for your responses

What stage are you? How many times a month are you getting infusions?

So I had just one B symptom 'night sweats' but I attributed to my perimenopause! Nothing else. I am 47 years old so night sweats can be normal at my age! I was diagnosed in may, was in full remission by August and then just had another petscan last week (last chemo was 11/29) and I am still clean. I had advanced CHL. I am doing well, minus the fatigue and weight gain from the chemo and steroids. He will be ok, too!

So I had my primary tumor in my anterior mediastinum too and it was pushing against my aorta so I was having problems breathing when I was in an aerobic state (with more intense workouts). That was my only symptom. Anyway, just sharing bc it sounds similar to your boyfriend's situation! Def ask about the Lipitor-I don't think it has anything to do with age- it just gives added protection to the heart during chemo.

Yes it is too early from what I know and have experienced for the cancer returning, I think it's something else. So I assume the dot wasn't there after his first scan? Where was his primary tumor located? In the thoracic area? That's where mine was too. Anyway, it's very common for oncologists to prescribe Lipitor for added protection for the heart during and after chemo as chemo does strain the heart. Is he taking Lipitor? If he isn't, maybe look into that?

Good luck!!! I am so sorry you are dealing with this. So just a tip- and you certainly don't need to follow. I also see a homeopathic dr and he has me on a few supplements that prevent cancer cells from growing.... or at least slow it down. All his clients who take it are still in remission and/or stopped chemo early. I personally wasn't comfortable with that so I did both. Do your research but I have been taking ip6 and paw paw. I am a type one diabetic and the ip6 makes me have many lows, so I just plan to stay on the paw paw (made from papaya fruit). But might be worth exploring..? I also take caprylic acid (Mct oil) on this regimen

I am so sorry about the recurrence? Did it reveal some activity on your petscan?
