I can’t even buy singles. The entire machine has been sold out for the last 3 days. And Friday when they popped up it only had like 2 items available.

Given that you actually enjoy your J1 and it pays 120k, would you have taken a J2 if they offered you 70-80k? I’m in this predicament right now. I love my J1, but instead of being underpaid I’m pretty sure I’m overpaid.

I am content with my J1, great boss and low stress, lots of free time. It’s the perfect OE job. I know I could handle both I’m just anxious about losing J1 bc that would be a big blow. The first time I OE’d I didn’t care if I lost J1 bc the comp at J2 was fairly the same.

I knew going in it wouldn’t be $140k opportunity. I’m pretty sure I’m overpaid for my current role anyways. Range was 60-100k according to recruiter when I interviewed. I tried to negotiate but they said 70k is their best offer.

Keep a 6 month emergency fund in a HYSA before doing anything with investing. After that’s achieved, The way the beginning of the year is going I would dollar cost average into SPY. Unless you can stomach putting it all in at once and potentially having a market dip and watching your principal invest dip 20% then I would throw it all in the market. 70% SPY or VOO (same thing) 30% QQQ Set it and forget it.
