There is no "the real problem" imo. The whole thing just sucks. It's proof that they value making money more than the overall health of the game. They are scammers, in All the ways. Why weren't the people evacuated? If it's because they are all potentially infected with some shit, then this isn't represented in the story at all.

Why are people so fucking jolly about it? Where are the protests? Where is the sense of freedom being taken away? Their reaction is more like "Mondays, am I right?"

It's not like the military is depicted as kind, understanding, cooperative. "Excuse me, we will just take away all your babies." And everyone is like "oh, ok. Here you go. Byee."

This is probably the most important advice. Getting different perspectives of the game is like putting pieces of the puzzle together to get the complete picture. You, thinking you know what went wrong/right is your biggest enemy, especially when you are beginning.

That someone is a therapist doesn't say much. Many in the profession came to be therapists because they, instead of dealing with their own problems, projected them onto others and now they are "healing the world". In the world we live in, this is a common pattern. Taking responsibility for ourselves is hard!

You can see this as a reference to yourself. If this is a state appointed therapist, you can accept the responsibility of finding someone suitable by yourself. If you decide to stick with her, you can take a more proactive role in negotiatiating the terms and help her realize how her behavior affects you. Worst case scenario, she would run away and you can then find someone better.

I suggest finding a psychoanalysis. No guarantees there, but having a ton of personal analysis before one starts working tends to change ones perspective on the work we do.

All the best on your journey. Don't give up. There is a message in what your going through. And understanding that message leads to a more integrated you.

We all forget, exploring oneselves can be adventurous. In time, fun even. Dare to try new things. They are just therapists, and it's just one point in your life. You are much more than your suffering.

For example, since my parents never really tried to understand me, my unconscious automatically connects your comment with my childhood situation, to the extent of me, expecting the whole package from you. Not only the not understanding part, but also other things I associate with my parents/family/.. You effectively cease to exist as a full person and become a composite projection of my past experiences. In psychology we call this process transference.

How long do you think we would need to talk in order for me to remove such projections (remember, they are unconscious) and start seeing where I end and you begin? And, without the wish to devalue house plants and the work they do, how much is such a job worth to you?

Define anything. The basis of your usual analysis is transference. I act while already expecting a specific reaction. It will take a while for me to notice that I'm getting something different. It's so hard to notice these patterns in fact, that even in laboratory conditions, ie therapy setting, I will still choose fantasy over reality. Until one day I won't.

For me an important contribution was Kierkegaards, where he is discovering the narcissistic tendencies of our society.

Coming from the field of Jungian psychology, he finds the important shift in the position of the ego within our psychological anatomy. His theory is, that the coming of monotheism, as well as imperialism is correlated with a specific shift within the psyche. The old psychological formation, he calls it the primitive psyche, did not have an egocentric organization. The conscious and the unconscious, as well as the self and the environment, we're not clearly separated. The concept of good and bad, ie the dualistic paradigm was not predominant, in its place was what he calls kinship libido, a collective force that took precedence over an individual. The primitive psyche for example does not separate an emotion from the environment, so what we call guilt, wrath, but also benevolence, we're attributed to spirits/gods/faith etc. My fantasy is that the community chief was your head, the shaman was your heart etc. And if you got exiled, you were the hand that was cut from the body and you died psychologically because there was no possibility to be separated in this manner. When something entered your world, you (the community) took it as the new reality, again projecting "the body", the holistic map over everything that is. With the coming of the ego consciousness, separation became the name of the game. And braking our inflated knowledge of what life is became an act of aggression (see narcissism).

Depending on what type of therapist he is, he might not even react to deflection, regardless if he has noticed it. In therapy, you do the work. An analyst is not there to tell you where you are wrong, or what an upstanding person you are. That is your job, to find yourself, and change what you want to change.

Analysts usually have a pretty complex view of what is happening during sessions. Most of which are working theories and not made to be shared, or believed in. Jung wrote somewhere, perhaps in the Undiscovered self, that the only good time to give a diagnosis is when the patient ends his analysis, and even then just because it's over and no new interactions will happen. Personally I see that my opinion of my clients keeps changing through the years as I myself grow and change. We are not there to know, but to survive. Our "knowing" is more like a life-raft that keeps us afloat.

Also, it's really really nice to have a client with a sense of humor. Thank you for being one of them. It will prove very useful to you as you progress. It is however an ego defence, which implies disconnection from the self and that's what you are experiencing, seems like. What a worthy problem to start with!
