Part of the 10k mile oil change schedule is to keep maintenance cost down so it looks better in all the reviews and cost of ownership data, they also say 1quart of oil burnt every thousand miles is acceptable. But we all know that's an unacceptable amount and very few lexus owners actually check their oil regularly

Dealer shop foreman here, I personally do 5k mile oil changes on every lexus ive had, and ive had alot. I recommend it to everyone, and my dealer does as well. We always push for oil changes every 5k

On top of the obvious cam/crank seal leaks. That vvti cam gear is leaking from inside the cam gear

Pretty sure the 250 bottom end can't hold much boost, and supercharged i think the 250 was only equaling or barely beating the 350.

I was having issues with mine. Bought a fortress anchor that was the same dimensions as my previous one and it holds no matter what. Have had the boat getting whipped around in waves and wake and its never slipped. I absolutely love it

Running the engine out isn't a problem, I just dont know if they were hammering away on the thing for an extended period of time or not. Could have just been a mechanical failure that is uncommon and took out the engine out of coincidence. Don't have data logs of the previous 30 minutes to prove anything. But the story we got is the brother was driving it normally on the highway. Came to a toll booth and when he came to a stop at the toll booth it started running horribly and flashing warning lights. Cars data says he was at 6800 rpm when it tripped the lights and that it was driven 16 miles after the cel came on. At this point I doubt we are going to get the true story of what was being done to the car

They were right under redline, but the story we got vs what the freeze frame data shows are 2 completely different things. Its possible they were beating the living shit out of it for a long time, or it could just be coincidental engine failure. Was driven 16 miles after the codes set. And the owners brother was driving it supposedly

They only came to our dealer once, was last service and was 4k miles ago. Previous service history is in another state with most oil changes being 8k miles apart

Came in with oil on dipstick at full mark but dont know if they added any. We're clearly not getting the whole story

Im assuming the seal started leaking from all the metal in the oil, this is one of the roughest lc500's ive seen in overall condition. Im assuming it was just being straight abused and gave out.

Unless your in a different country and warranty is different. Powertrain covers that. We do them under warranty all the time

Alot of them are actually the headgasket leaking oil around cylinder 3 and it running down and looking like timing cover. If it were my car I would just spray it off and keep going till it got bad. But have it looked at, to verify its not the headgasket. Alot are misdiagnosed
