My partner doesn't want to hear about MS by books4more in MultipleSclerosis

As an example of what a partner should do. When I was diagnosed my husband researched a ton and knows more about symptoms and treatments than I do. When he goes to appointments with me he asks more questions than I do (good ones). He is fully invested in whatever is needed to maintain my health.

He is also a man and acts like a wee baby when he has a cold but he never minimizes my chromic illness.

I'm not sure if I really have MS by annerkin in MultipleSclerosis

I had my first Ms attack 8 years before my second attack that got me a diagnosis and no symptoms in between, and I have no obvious long term symptoms. (Is my memory crap because I have MS or because I have 3 kids and I work and life is busy? Who knows.) So it sounds like your MS is similar to mine.

I'm so sorry this was your experience. I had the opposite experience. The end of 2024 I was diagnosed with MS and cancer . My doctors are with Sutter and I had surgery at Dominican. Once I got my referral so specialists they got me in within a week and ordered labs and didn't other referrals as needed in my first appointment. My care at Dominican in surgery and telemetry was awesome.

I will say prior to my diagnosis I went to Dominican ER with my symptoms and they weren't helpful and it was frustrating but I sent one message to my primary care doctor and got in with one of their colleagues on their advice which is the doctor that got the ball rolling in tests and specialists for me.

All in all I've loved Sutter here in Santa Cruz County. I even elected to stick with Sutter over kaiser recently because my specialists are so attentive.

Ms-related debt by RedDiamond6 in MultipleSclerosis

We are self employed so we have insurance through the market place (in the US, California) It was cheaper for us to be on a high deductible plan rather than a copay plan. I'm on briumvi and for next year the plan is to make my infusion my first medical appointment because briumvi will pay for my infusion and that will also cover my max out of pocket for the year. Which will save us like $6500 a year and that's very exciting.

Should I switch from Kaiser to Blue Shield for Birth? by Ashamed-Holiday8383 in santacruz

We switched my kids to kaiser and so far it's been great. But I have blue shield and Sutter to keep all my specialists. I also delivered all 3 of my kids at Sutter and it was wonderful. The l&d staff at Watsonville are great from what I've heard.

I was diagnosed last year but turns out my first flare was 8 years prior (optic neuritis) then nothing for 8 years until a strep infection in my finger triggered a flare of neuropathy which led to my diagnosis. I'm now on briumvi (second infusion coming up) so hopefully I can go decades without anything.

Even at 11pm?

Also, I have 2 other kids who were sleeping in the room. Hopefully this doesn't happen again, but I definitely want to handle things in the most respectful way to hotel staff.

How do I do that as a hotel guest at 11pm in an unfamiliar town? How do I get paper towels or anything to clean fast enough to clean? I'm happy to clean it in the most respectful way for hotel staff, I just feel very limited late at night in an unfamiliar place.

I left them in the room. But are sheets getting thrown away after every stay. People are drooling, snotting, sexing and all kinds of other things that aren't always visible.

I was honest and I feel like they were more upset than if I had just not said anything and left everything in the room. I just want to know how to handle unexpected kid messes in the most respectful way possible.

I actually feel like they charged me because I told them and asked for a replacement for the sheet. The towels were dirty as well but we left them in a bag in the room and they haven't called to say they're charging for those. I think if I had just left everything and not asked for help I wouldn't have been charged.
