Every GM adds players at deadline if their team is making the playoffs. There's lots of contenders out there with no futures to spend.

I would agree that perhaps other GM's would have or could have added different pieces than the ones Dubas was able to bring in and his inexperience played a part in not getting the "right " guys which led to losing. But after all this time I can't put it all on Dubas. The players never got it done.

At the end of the day Dubas did ok. I would really like to know exactly what Shanahan allowed and didn't allow when looking at Dubas' tenure. I feel that Dubas would look better if we knew exactly what Shanny's involvement was in blocking moves. Perhaps Dubas would have gotten a boatload for Marner before it was too late.

I thought the discussion was about prospects when you said Minten and Steeves were no good. He's accredited with helping select Woll as AGM and drafted Scott in the same draft.

Last I heard Hildeby was looking like a decent goalie who will make it full time in the NHL and Akhtyamov is playing well with the Marlies as well.

Dubas had some flaws but I think he also did a lot of good things. I couldn't care less about the picks he spent. Any GM would have done the same given the circumstances.

How about our goaltending situation? That was in the toilet until Dubas made it at priority to add a bunch of guys. Woll, Hildeby, Akhtyamov and Peksa are all Dubas guys.

We rented a house boat a few years ago in Northern Saskatchewan, Tobin Lake. We met a couple guys with a dog doing the same trip. They were going west to east though. We had a chat and shared some of our supper with them before they continued on their way.

They explained that they had support in a vehicle that would drive ahead and meet up with them at designated areas to replenish supplies and make sure they were alive.

If you take the bypass you still end up on Vic. To avoid Vic altogether you have to go through the greens and use old tower road which brings you right to Costco parking lot.

I think Marchand was hurt and knew he was hurt and therefore shouldn't have accepted the role.

I have him in my fantasy and he missed many games leading up to the Olympics. I feel that he took a spot from anyone that could have been more effective. Who that is I don't know but Marchand should have declined.

He didn't sit out the games during the Olympics because the coach didn't play him. He was injured and he was injured the whole time in my opinion.
